Yeah,, The bigger the hole the faster the slide goes up/down,,if the spring is one coil shorter there is less resistance and it will go up/down even faster..lol..will make for a snappy motor response

Today was a day of just admiring my beast. Sometimes you have to stop and realize how lucky we are to enjoy such a great hobby

Still battling some exhaust leak neat the head. I even ordered a 'premium' exhaust gasket and put that on dry. Still leaks. I don't dare go any tighter on the nuts. I hear there is either some muffler goo, or try adding Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV to the gasket.

Well, I have continued to fight with some exhaust leak right where the muffler pipe joins the head. I even got a premium gasket and not much if any improvement. I was running a few errands and POOF, the pipe did a complete break right there at the final bend.
To make a long story short, since TAOTAO's main import facility is right here in town I called them up. Will just go back with a new 'stock' replacement muffler. Hopefully the steel in this one is just a tad better than the original.
Sad note is I was going to just have the mom and pop muffler shop just weld it closed again (The old one) and the business that has been there since I was a child and before is all boarded up. It's sad because I would have recommended them to anyone for auto repairs. They had a sign on the door but didn't get a chance to read it yesterday. I suspect the owner passed away and the kids (if any) were not willing to keep the business going. AAA Muffler in Garland will be missed.

Today I actually drove errands on my scoot. Went to the bank (sadly, to transfer money from savings to checking to pay for the wagon repairs. Bad car!); went to the grocery store (and barely fit the sack in my seat bag--darn 2for1 Cheetos sale!); went to the post office; went to the library (got Tangled and Brave)
I haven't done errands on the scoot before. Usually I'm going with too much, or too big, or too far away. Kind of fun. Although I was a bit concerned about my piece of Tippins Cherry Limeade pie suffering in the seat bag....

Trouble being a girly-girl, there's always that purse to situate. And even N-R bags would probably have trouble with 2-for-1 XL Cheetos bags. Plus four ears of Andy's Candy. Plus a slice of pie. Plus two pckgs of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. Plus the bag of half-price double choco chunk cookies. I went for the corn, rolls, and a box of CheezIts. I never seem to escape the smörgåsbord with only what I went in for. Evil stores. On the other hand, Mom seemed QUITE happy with the extras.... >'Kat

With plenty of bungee cords on hand you can carry just about anything on a scooter. While out camping in a motorhome in need of some remedial attention (daughter spilled a bowl of chilli on a beige carpet) I have transported a RugDoctor carpet steamer along with all the attachments with an assortment of cleaners and other misc supplies with just the scooter and its top case. I was at Home Depot and found the 1 1/2 hp well pump I needed along with a straight shaft 28cc weed wacker on sale so those were picked up along with the required fittings to install the new pump with however my daughter called and we added a bag of cypress mulch, bag of top soil, bag of potting mix, a few cans of hornet spray and some other misc items all of which made it home in one trip on the scooter. The other day my daughter forgot some of her luggage in her car when she transferred to her friends vehicle so they could get pampered at a spa on the left coast of Florida and that metal box just barely fit into the top case for the 250 mile trip down the interstate and back to drop it off. The day before the trip with the luggage I had just finished taking a few days doing my 25,000 mile maintenance on the bike flushing the coolant with a white vinegar mix then distilled water replacing it with Engine Ice coolant, flushing the brakes adding new fluid along with changing all three sets of brake pads to Kevlar, replaced the air filter, installed a new belt, Dr Pulley Sliders and a new Dunlop 404 rear tire. I have a few miles to go to actually get to 25,000 when the next engine oil, filter and gear lube change is due and I didn't want to do it all at the exact same moment and wanted to spread out working in the garage when its over degrees outside.
