I took my gears, the secondary gears, to NAPA Auto Parts' machine shop to get it pressed off/on. It only cost me $8. The only things worth noting is that there is a little plastic spacer(?) deal that you don't want to lose on the back of one of the gears. Also, a couple of bolts are of different sizes, so I cut holes in carboard in the pattern that they are on the engine, then placed the bolts through through them--- I didn't cut holes for the gear oil drain and fill bolts though. I replaced the drain bolt after draining the oil, and left both in the case.

Will do spandi,, Hey onewheeldrive,,I need to take my gearbox apart sooner or later might do some taller gears for when I get a cam and big port,,how hard was it to do and is the 50cc pretty much the same as the 150 ?? Thanks I haven't been in a 150cc box, but it shouldn't be any more complex (if at all) than a 50cc gearbox. It may just be different to access is all. I've seen scooters that you could change the gears by taking a plate off in the cvt behind the clutch. It was really easy to do on mine. I took off the exhaust, tire, clutch..etc (whatever to get access to it), took the gears out, and swapped them. Really cake. I used only the original gasket without any sealer or whatever (if there isn't any sealant, you can reuse it-- no tears at all). No leaks yet, and if needed, it's a lot easier to deal with than the crankcase halves. I knew/know that I'll be going back in there anyway-- no big deal. If the gasket tears it's not the end of the world if you ride it waiting on ordering a new one. Yeah,, Heck you could even clean it real good and use a small bead of gasket maker,,that will work good enough until you get a new one...I should probably get myself a complete gasket kit sooner or later,,i am going to need them. I might bite the bullet and get the press that HF has Im sure I will use it quite a bit in the future for pressing bearings. Thanks for the reply onewheeldrive! Tom

The more you run it the faster it will go,,give it 1000 miles or so,,it will wake up a little more,,but you wont see much more than 35mph out of a stock 50 with just coil and cdi.If you open up the exhaust and get a better filter then jet the stock 50 you might see a few more MPH? You might want to look into gears also with that BBKwhen the time comes,,you should see comfortable cruising speeds of 40 MPH and top speeds over 50 no problem....

Heavier rollers/sliders will bring your rpm down some through the gears,,but once the CVT is fully engaged and you are in high gear the motor will slowly pick up rpm's like before,,this is where gears come into place.I want to get one tooth bigger on my output shaft and one smaller on intermediate to see if i can get my rpm down a little while cruising,,i think I have enough power but if not,,guess i will be getting my 60mm BBK sooner than i think..lol
You could even try sliders of the same weight you have in there,,they seem to work well,,I love my sliders,,nice and quiet, also very nice power distribution.

Hit a HUGE pothole on the way home tonight and either my hand hit the kill switch or the sudden jarring of the pothole somehow did it. Either way it was the first thing I checked when I got off my scooter-- I seriously thought my spark plug boot came off the plug at first! Lol.

howdy, the center stand has been broken for a while. I've noticed the scoot kind of tending to go a bit to one side when coming off the center stand. so last week it really tried to fall over when I tried to take it off and I looked under and saw a weld broken off the tab that fastens the stand to the motor. I took I by the dealer and he took it off the scoot and found the tab had never been properly welded , only tacked. so he removed it and welded it and put it back today. there is one of the two headlight bulbs burned out but they didn't have one so I stopped at an auto parts and bought the bulb which I just changed out. that may save me the ambarrasment I had the other night in town when a car pulled out in front of me and when I honked they blinked their tail lights so I checked and had no headlight which is why they didn't see me. anyhoo it's fixed now. the bulb lasted 10,000 miles though---not so bad.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Some train tracks I cross are just as bad. I guess that is the downside of having 10" rims (3.5x10 tires) EDIT: I'm going to find that pothole tomorrow afternoon, too. I was moving along pretty good when I hit it, so that is part of the problem.

Put a new rear shock on my scoot today (testedscooterparts john), and makes a satisfying difference I would say--- considering I haven't done that since I've had this thing.
