Thanks Jerseyboy, I find doing a good paint job takes FOREVER, but the desert heat helps with "Curing" (still ends up taking WEEKS to finish the job right) Hope you have better luck with your gas tank, as I know how removing this stuff can be a nightmare!

Tried "installing" saddlebags...
Got a NICE "as-new" pair of heavy-duty "throw-over" saddlebags from a fellow on eBay who bought them new, thinking they were "model-specific" for a particular Japanese touring motorcycle. NOT! LOL!
C'mon guy, they actually fit ANYTHING... Even your fat-tire Schwinn... These are EXCELLENT quality, probably $100+ bags. I'm almost (that's ALMOST) ashamed I got them for a $5 opening bid plus $15 shipping... I thought they would be an easy "slip-on" beneath the seat, but while adjustable, the "bridge" between bags is WAY too narrow... "Minnie Mouse" is sorta, well, fat in the butt... As in fatter than a Harley... Sorta like those giant beetles in "Starship Troopers" that shot nuclear blasts from their posteriors... LOL! No problem there, just add some lengthened ties between the two bags. It's hidden beneath the seat anyway.
NOT! LOL! The old Mouse has a fabulously-functional grab-rail on each side, strong enough to hang the scoot from. BUT... the front attach-point is right in the middle of where the bags must go. Putting them in FRONT of the bar places them too far forward, and you can't get to the center-stand. Putting them BEHIND the bar places them too far back, at a funky angle, and blocking the side turn-signals.
Fortunately, the bag-spreader has a neat, large diamond-shaped hole in the center of each side, which the front of the grab-bars can protrude through... IF I can figure out how to loosen the bars!
Really! The factory manual shows the front of the bars being held on with a through-bolt, threaded into a welded-on nut below the top frame rail. Mine has that bolt alright, BUT it's a chrome "button" on top, with NO hex head to wrench... I pulled the seat-pan to be sure, and yup... it's threaded into a welded-on nut, but NO way to tighten or loosen it. There must be a special tool as the chrome "button" sits on a thick fiber washer. I think the washer must be capable of being held with a tool and turned tight or loose.
Anyway, the REAR attach-points are a pair of monster Allen-bolts like those on disk-brake calipers. THOSE I can get loose (I think... LOL!). If so, I'll pull the rears and slip the bags over the rails, and into place. We shall see...
The bags are VERY nice HEAVY leather-grained vinyl, and match the seat well. You almost have to smell them to see if they're leather or not! You don't want to do that in public, unless you want some REALLY strange looks from bystanders... Just setting them in place, I can see they will look dang-near "factory" and add several cubic feet of cargo room... Looks like they're designed to hold a 12-pack, plus ice, in each one... Yup, drain-holes and all... LOL!
I can REALLY use some extra carrying space, so I'll post pix as soon as I get the mounting sorted out. Saddlebags on a scooter may not be the coolest addition, but if they don't look absolutely goofy, they can be mighty handy! Being an old Harley guy, I'm used to having saddlebags... Generic cycle bags are a pretty simple and removable item, so they're worth consideration.
I'll post as soon as they're on, and correct.

Put some top cylinder lube in the gas tank and went for a ride to decarbon the head, valves and piston.
Went for a 100 mile run half of which was alongside a FireBlade on the Interstate. That guy had to do a lot of shifting when we got to the construction areas. I am glad that I spent very little time behind him (loud buzzy muffler and gas fumes) and most beside and some up front.
Despite the horsing around and traffic flowing at about 80 managed to get over 65 mpg.
Bugs were thick after all the rain so the bike now needs washing again.

That looks like good stuff spandi! Does it have the little valve on the bottom of the can that you break to mix the hardener in with it before you use it? Next time I paint I will use a better quality clear,,will keep you posted on how the cheaper Duplicolor Enamel holds up over black,,so far it looks great!

No Jerseyboy, it isn't a 2 part spray. I tried a 2 part epoxy spray, (with button on the bottom for the activator) but got less than great results.

Ran outta gas, LOL! Only had to push it a few blocks, but still enough to have sweat rolling off of you. One of these days I'll fix my gas gauge. Up to no good today: Popped out the clutch shafts out of both cases. Cleaned the gearboxes out of all the oil, sick of my garage smelling like gear oil!!

I have to give some credit to 90gtvert over at 49ccscoot for some of that. I watched his bearing video he did, and it was VERY well done!

I was thinking that Duplicolor being an automotive clear coat probably has UV inhibitors in it anyways. But yes, post pictures of your work.

Thanks I haven't been in a 150cc box, but it shouldn't be any more complex (if at all) than a 50cc gearbox. It may just be different to access is all. I've seen scooters that you could change the gears by taking a plate off in the cvt behind the clutch. It was really easy to do on mine. I took off the exhaust, tire, clutch..etc (whatever to get access to it), took the gears out, and swapped them. Really cake. I used only the original gasket without any sealer or whatever (if there isn't any sealant, you can reuse it-- no tears at all). No leaks yet, and if needed, it's a lot easier to deal with than the crankcase halves. I knew/know that I'll be going back in there anyway-- no big deal. If the gasket tears it's not the end of the world if you ride it waiting on ordering a new one.
