Changed the front wheel bearings and adjusted the valve settings. Intake was OK but exhaust was way off! Really pleased with the performance now. It's not that comfortable driving at 75 mph with 13" wheels...

I actually skipped riding and finally washed it (rode a few errands first but really wanted to stop for lunch on the beach). Cleaned the CVT filter while I was at it.
The bike is rather boring maintenance wise with a 6,250 mile schedule between oil changes and 12,500 between major services like belt/tire changes and valve adjusts. So I just make up for it by riding more. 3,000 miles to go to the next major service with 22,000 miles on the bike.

I washed it,brushed protectant on all my rubber except tires, checked oil, kicked the tires and rode with the wind Oh yeah,, I stuck my finger inside the tailpipe and wiped to see if it was running a little rich..hehehe...its running pretty sweet,,if I was not so lazy I might up the pilot jet one of these days,,and i plan on doing a GPS run tomorrow to see how fast it will go and compare to the speedo..

I bought some Dr Pulley sliders and some time in the near future I will install and see if there is any truth to the hype.

Changed the engine oil today. Last week, I cleaned up the wheels and cvt case a bit with degreaser.

I went by ScooterlandUS in San Jose to see my poor broken bike and talk to the owner. Going to get rolling on the fixes and get that bad boy rolling again.
I'm having Mike put on a stainless exhaust since the old one is scratched up now.
I also we surfed for LED options to light up the back end of the bike. New bling for my ride.

Today I finally decided to take a working scooter and take it apart and install Dr. Pulley Sliders in the Variator.
I had noticed lately a slight vibration in the 20 to 30 MPH zone. The variator rollers I pulled out did indeed have some flat spots on them after only 3300KM. I believe the original equipment rollers started out at 14G but not sure. I don't have any kind of precision scale and since these are now flattened I doubt they weight what they once did.
The Doctor Pully sliders I got were 13 gram. The slight vibration is gone. Seems like I am running about 500 RPM's Less with WOT. Top speed seems to be about 3MPH faster with a lower engine rpm. It's hard to tell because today is a very windy day.
I used my new Harbor Freight electric impact wrench to remove the variator nut. It made it almost dead simple. As I tightened the assembly back up I turned the assembly a few times to make sure I didn't bind up the belt.
I did a 5 mile test ride and nothing flew off, broke or otherwise malfunctioned so I say it's ready for daily use again. Will observe it and give further reviews as time permits,

Nice,, Last night I adjusted my valves,,the intake was a little tight(.003) but the exhaust was fine,,thats after 1000 miles. Also I removed my carb and tried to put a larger pilot jet in but the jet I got was the wrong type. The scooter starts and runs better after the intake valve was loosened up a hair.
I also made a float for my tank sensor out of an old Ford Ranger sending float,,had to cut it in half but it works good and now I don't have to worry about the stupid Chinese float disintegrating in the tank causes fuel/carb issues in one year...lol..if you have not removed or upgraded your float it will happen sooner of later unless they changed the material they make them out of...

Laid down metallic lacquer on a replacement nose section, and I'm now letting it "bake" in the breezy 105 degree desert day.

Well I was going to paint my tank last night but the darn thing will only come halfway out after all the bolts are off,,guess i need to remove the rear fender/tail light assembly to get it all the way out,,at least it slid far enough forward that the sending unit popped right up and out BTW-I am having great results with the Duplicolor Enamel spray bombs,,i did the tail gate on my truck gloss black,,hit it with 2 coats color and 2 coats Enamel clear,,waited two weeks and rubbed it with some light compound than buffed and polished it,,it looks really good Stay cool down there in that sand pile Spandi!
