Well, I bought a 2008 Baccio VX 150 on Monday evening - and rode it home last night (after getting title/registration/plate Tuesday morning) - I think I'll get some gas for it this evening... So, that's what I'll do to my scooter today - get gas...

hang on a minute
how many of those 35,000 was with that BBK on it?? At least 30,000. Lots of people think I am full of Sh** but I swear it is true. I am constantly tweaking and tuning; along with oil changes. It is also the original battery and wiring: Although I have had to splice and solder many of them (wires) because of cracking and corrosion. The only thing I have lost is the right-hand-brake lever switch (which lights up the rear brake-light). Had to change the head light several times and the rear brake-light twice... two turn signal bulbs, three variators and 5 sets of rollers, 4 rear tires and three front tires. Five drive belts. Very rarely revved it over 8,000RMP and warmed it up for at least 1 minute before riding it under load. Te plastics have had to be stitched with shoe-strings in a few places (will post a couple pics as soon as I can catch up with my tech-related stuff. This is the top-end I purchased (not a sales pitch). Purchased over two years ago and still kickin'. I lapped the valves and everything else I could think of.... Ran only Rotella 15-40 since day 1. Edit: All in all I figure I have over 40,000 miles on this bike. Only transportation I own and ride rain, shine, snow, sleet... whatever everyday. Maybe 44mm is a 63cc.... I really don't know as there is mixed opinions.?.?.? Any help with this displacement with accurate CCs on 44mm?

The wife and I rode the scooters to a local BBQ joint for lunch. 50 degrees and a little drizzle, but still a nice ride.

Second oil change on new Jonway at 200 mi. Next one will be at 500 mi. Then go to Mobile 1 Synthetic at 1K mi. No sign of metal shavings in the oil. Even used a magnetic extension to try and collect from the inside...nothing. Was thinking there should be something.

repaired muffler internals to stop backfiring. Thanks for this, bro. Never seen the inside of one of these. Good workmanship, BTW.

mopojo, Thanks!
I drilled the holes in the tube you see to relieve some of the backpressure created by the catalytic converter.

No, no, NO! There shouldn't be any metal floating around in your mill... Your Jonway is doing just fine!!!
Have a bone for pristine oil!
Now my old fifties' Hog always coughed-up bits and pieces of bearing babbitt, iron bits, crank case aluminum, piston-skirt shavings... The genuine Harley-Davidson HORSE-HAIR oil-filter did miss a few items now and then... But THAT was the FIFTIES! LOL!

oldchopperguy Thanks Leo, thats's good to know then. I had changed out the gear oil the other day and had a very slow leak from from the drain screw. I knew I had tightened everything up and wiped it down, but, still getting a drip. So today, with the nice weather, I started draining it again and happened to notice the washer. The drain washer has two different sides. One side is solid copper color, the other is copper/silver. Where the silver radius is just a tiny, tiny bit thinner. I placed the copper/silver side toward the drain and installed the nut. After a few miles, of test riding, the leak has been stopped. After checking around for washer images, I think they are called Bonded Sealing Washers. But either way, by turning it around during the reinstall, it has sealed up the drip. Now I have peace of mind again and learned something new. Loren (riding drip free) in Dallas.

Loren,
Sounds like you have your leak under control! My old Xingyue always did leak a little at the gear-oil drain. It's one of those maintenance items we often neglect...
I think you're going to really enjoy that 250! Maybe we can get together this spring and take a little ride together.
Ride safe!

Not today but Saturday I pulled the front wheel on my Yamaha Majestry to see if I could find a scraping noise. It has 17,000 miles on it. I bought it cheap because the former owner was told it was the alternator and the fix was about $400. I made him an offer and he took it. Riding it the noise was coming from the front wheel. The speedometer sensor was bone dry. Greased it with white lithium grease, noise gone. About $4 and about an hour work.
