[replyingto=scoots]scoots[/replyingto]So, what the crap are all of us supposed to do with our Hoca Fans? I paid my local scooter guy like, 30$ for my fan! I was uneducated and didn't know any better, he told me it was an aftermarket racing fan and would cool better. 30$ could get me a roller weight kit, or some other goodies!
Anybody want to buy a cool, red, racing fan? LOL!

Wonder if I can sell it as a hamster exercise wheel.

Is there some way we could attach them in our variator drive face? I seen scooterelements has a NCY driveface with a fan in it to cool down the cvt.

OK, got to thinking.... What if we can keep and use our Hoca/racing fan for less weight/drag, and just ad a fan scoop? I'm making my own scoop with a 4" black ABS from Lowes, gonna trim some off a little, and mount it with some small L brackets. I seen a guy on the old site scootdawg do this in the tips and tricks section. Everyone should try it, besides, a cooler engine is a happy engine right?

[replyingto=doublert]doublert[/replyingto]Yep your right a cooler engine is a happier engine...... But even thought Fawkes is not a stroker anymore ( for the moment ) He's still hopped up, I actually have no idea how much if any "engine" damage was done to Fawkes using the Hoca fan, but i can attest to my CVT getting too hot and melting the variator fan and the variator plastic guides, and destroying belts prematurely..
IMHO it's not worth the risk.. If the Oem fan was better at cooling than the Hoca, no scoop is going to change that... also the wind from the scoop and the Hoca would be fighting each other, as the fins are in the opposite direction and blow twords the scoop rather than suck..

[replyingto=larry001964]larry001964[/replyingto]My aftermarket fan blades are not reversed for some reason? They are going the same direction that my stock fan blades are? That's weird..... I was wondering why the other guy said his blades were reversed, mine are not.

I don't know if they changed the fins... Here's mine Standard sucks air in, Hoca blows air out..

The Flywheel fan has nothing to do with the CVT, that fan cools the motor that is why it blows under the shroud. Alleyoop

Alleyoop Yes, but the hotter the engine runs the hotter the cvt will be also, the engine heat does transfer thru the metal to the CVT chamber, and adds to the heat being generated by the CVT operation.. As soon as I got the engine temps under control my melting CVT parts stopped..

what larry00 says is true, the heat from the engine will transfer into the cvt this is physics 101 , and comonsense to most who work with metal and heat.
