howdy, i guess a little off topic won't hurt. my brother-in-law is a minister and mentioned one of hardest funerals he had to do was in nigeria where the custom is to bury the best bottle of unopened wine with the deceased. i think he may have cried during that funeral---probably knew that vintage.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Well, after my step dad re-designed mine for me, I didn't care for it anymore! I'd need something bigger to be buried in...say a nice vintage caddy!

And there ya got the glaring problem with scoots versus motorcycles.
Face it. A properly-done-up big scooter looks pretty slick...I favor the Burgman-style dressing, swoopy and rising to a bustle on the rear. And, all that storage space! How is it a conventional motorcycle has NO space?
But. I've dropped a bike...had a bulky load tied on the pillion seat; so I was folding a leg up to get over the gas tank. Didn't work, and down it went.
Scratched the exhaust pipe and muffler. Cry me a river, will ya?
Compare that to all this beautiful, flowing PLASTIC...that'll crack if you LOOK at it, hard. Haven't dropped a scooter yet. But as I note elsewhere, I broke up a lot of it just getting the tupperware off it in trying some repairs.
Not a big loss...this was after hitting a deer. And living to recount it; so I guess the glass is half-full.
But the loss of the VOG, or the money I paid for it...that hurts.

Gotta agree with spandi. I won't kill my wagon (if he's still going) along with me. Maybe my nef would want him. Seems wrong to deprive a relative of a decent and well-maintained vehicle. Even if it's not what he wants to drive, at least it's transportation and free. If nothing else he can sell for $100, ha! Although the value seems to keep nibbling up, the past few years....

Been really busy and short on money...so no. It's not a pressing issue, honestly...but I do want it fixed.
