I agree with Matt from PFS.
I used to believe in Kevlar belts until I had seen what they did to 3 different scooter variator faces. Since I made the recommendation and did the work, I replaced the variators and used PL gates belts free of charge to my customers. Never again will I use Kevlar belts in my shop.

I bought my powerlink belt from Matt (partsforscooters). Ya, Ya i know they are not the cheapest but i worked for Gates for almost 2 years and i can tell the real deal from the fake knock-off's and it's not easy to tell at first glance. PFS has the real deal (i looked up the date code and it was ran by linda and don - line 2 - 3ed shift) and the price justifies peace of mind. Thanks! It's true we may not always be the least expensive, but oftentimes it is due to the quality of product that we carry. The fake Gates belts coming out of China is kinda of getting to epidemic levels lately... I've seen a lot of fake Bando as well... Be careful out there guys. If you are looking at a brand of parts that has formal representation in the USA (such as Gates USA, or UNI air filters for example), if you find one for super cheap it is usually worth asking some questions. Its def worth paying a few bucks more for a good gates belt. I also use a koso variator with an ncy fan free gold color drive face. And with the 2000 rpm main clutch spring my cvt gets very hot. I usually get a new kvlar at the begining of the riding season and replace it in the middle of the summer sometime. So ill get about 8 months out of two belts. I can prob get away with just using one but as the belts ware u loose some performance and i dont mind spending 25 bucks to ensure my scoot i running good.

Im usually somewhere between 7800 and 8100 rpms depending on the weather and the belt condition on a new belt and with cooler weather the rpms are about 7800. And if my belt is at about half life the rpms will go up. Dont get me wrong i dont run at these rpms that often. I usually cruise around 60 mph at 7000 rpms. I have found that when it comes to the belt ware and the weather the slightest change in either can cause a noticable change in performance.

I am spoiled now getting 12,000 to 15,000 miles from stock belts. 2 belts in just a summer riding season would be intolerable.
