or.. you can get a cheaper 12v impact wrench.. I had a hard time with my variator nut, got a cheap 12v impact and came out in 5 seconds..

Well all i gotta say is as tough as it is getting the thing off I cant imagine them ever coming loose on their own just using moderate force when re-tightening.

If you think the variator nut is hard, just wait 'til you try taking the clutch bell nut off. And for that matter, the clutch bell nut is nothing compared to the Clutch Nut. Oh, man the things that are in store for you...  |

If you have a Harbor Freight near you get on their email list and watch the coupons that come in. If you bent 2 wrenches consider replacing them with the Pitsburgh brand from Harbor Freight as they come with a lifetime guaranty.

2 words (?? or one??) Snap-on Williams Industrial are much higher quality however if you have to ask ther price you probably can't afford them. The will last long enough to be handed down to your children and grandchildren and possibly their grandchildren too. On a budget the Pitsburgh from Harbor Freight are just fine and more than up to the job. |

I use an extra long breaker bar. But it may help to have extra body weight that you can use to your advantage too. I have seen guys use a heavy duty pipe slipped over a breaker bar to even more leverage too.
You also need to look close at the variator or clutch nut for that matter. They usually put some epoxy on the nut to help try to keep it from coming loose. So you might have to chisel off some of the epoxy to make it easier to get the nut loose.

I use a heat gun to make it pliable to remove. Works on disk brake rotor screw's to...

I used a wrench and a rubber mallet. A mallet to hit the wrench and it works perfect to put it back on also.
