Dang, I didn't even know they sold GY6-100's, that's quite appealing actually. I would definitely do that before just about any other route for a blown motor now. I almost want to go out and find a non-running Chinese 50cc and pop one of those up! That's kinda spotchy customer service if you ask me but oh well, give them the benefit of the doubt, that's definitely a high demand item. All the best for Fawkes!!!

I guess I'm just getting spring fever, I sure miss riding, and I'm getting impatient.. that engine scrappy sells is a long case and is actually better suited for the stroker than my original engine (Short Case) as I can get a bigger rear tire on it.
My overall plan is to buy this engine, put my hp parts on it, then rebuild my original engine to the same as the new one now.. Then I will take the scrappy engine and rebuild it using the stroker,, Glen has requested I take pics and videos of the rebuild, but it's hard to take the time and do a good job of documenting the rebuild when your in a hurry to be riding, and needing Fawkes to get back and forth to work.... So If I do it this way I can take my time and document it well....

Hi salracer No I haven't gotten mine yet, and I'm getting pissed... Now they are ducking my phone calls and not answering my email asking for a date they will send.....
I have located another engine, it don't have the 83cc kit on it, but no big deal, I can add that if i have to... The clock is ticking and If they don't give me a definite shipment date by Tuesday, I'm canceling the order..
Pisses me off when you sell something you don't have then ignore my phone calls and emails..

[replyingto=spandi]spandi[/replyingto]It was Mobile 1, 0w 40 European blend syn.. It did allow Fawkes to start below 0 but it trashed my crank and rings... I had to store Fawkes outside and get to work every day.. And he was really really hard to start.
It was a calculated risk, and i knew it at the time...

[replyingto=spandi]spandi[/replyingto]I wouldn't if you love your scoot and depend on it.. All of Fawkes problems actually stem from when first put togather, i didn't use a second base gasket, didn't use a matching Big Bore head, and my gearing was too high at 17/49 stressing the trans componets too much. Ohhh well live and learn.
Next stroker will be with the long case for a bigger rear tire, 16/50 gearing, and matching head, and two base gaskets.... I'm pretty sure he will be much better the second time around.

No teacher like adversity. Do you know how many times I had to "Modify" something on that scoot to get it right? HA! BTW, is Fawkes named after the gunpowder "Guy"?

No teacher like adversity. Do you know how many times I had to "Modify" something on that scoot to get it right? HA! BTW, is Fawkes named after the gunpowder "Guy"? LOL no, He's named after Dumbledore's pet phoenix in Harry Potter... Phoenix's are suppose to have healing powers (Riding in the wind heals the soul), tremendous lifting power (That stroker gave him a lot of power, Buck a 40 MPH head wind and still make 50 MPH, hard not to be impressed), and die and are reborn ( He goes down and I fix him).... Kinda seemed fitting for my scoot.. Seems crazy to get attached to a material item, but this scooter is special to me (it's been he and I against the world getting back on my feet), I packed up everything i owned, drove half way across the state of Indiana, to get gainfully employed, again (Even my family thought I was nuts). Drove him two hours every day back and forth to work (blew him up and rebuilt him with the stroker) moved closer, during that time, we have fought high winds, rain, Hwy traffic, snow and other things he was never designed to handle.... Would have been cheaper to buy a bigger scooter, probably smarter too, but it just would not have been Fawkes. He and I have been thru a lot together, and I pushed him way beyond his design limits for extended periods of time.. So long as I'm able, Ill keep him running Ill not abandon him...

Well after the "Blow up" Guy Fawkes just might be more appropriate. But seriously, I hope everything goes smoothly with the rebuild and your Phoenix is magically back on the road again.

Ohhh no magic here, My problems with scrappydog and my backorderd engine will be resolved Tuesday, one way or the other.... Ill get thru the Memorial day weekend, If nothing from them by that time, Ill fix the problem and get me another engine, partsforscooters has them in stock and ready to go, they are cheaper too. I just have to add the 83cc kit, change the rear shaft, a couple of hours work.
Got to say I'm not happy at all them avoiding my phone calls, and not answering my emails, that alone is making me lean twords just canceling the order.

Yeah, they only had half of my order in Stock, even though the website showed it was all in stock. At least they shipped the in Stock parts. They told me 1-2 weeks for the rest. Seems like the 1 week thing is an auto reply for them.

Yea Josh I admit I don't take back ordering well, as far as I'm concerned if you say it's in stock, and you don't have it, then as far as I'm concerned in the business deal you lied.
In addition when this happens they have tied up my money preventing me from going else where, even if the deal were canceled Immediately, the charge back on my credit card takes up to a week, so either way they have just cost me a week of downtime by lying to me to begin with..
So no I don't take it well at all... For the moment I'm trying to be patient, when scrappy does have an item in stock, it's delivered quickly and tracking numbers sent, all and all a pleasant experience, that's the only thing keeping me from canceling right now..
But not answering his phone, or responding to my emails makes me put a time limit on the deal.. End of the day Tuesday is my limit..

[replyingto=larry001964]larry001964[/replyingto]Hi Larry Me too,Shelly told me it would be tied up for about a week. THAT WAS LAST TUESDAY. I,m going to call them on tuesday, and if they give me another excuse, I,ll cancel the order as well as any future purchases. I liked the idea of "plug-and play" i guess im getting lazy.
