Hi Jack No I originally bought the Hoca tranny kit from Mainpeace, but to be fair I'm using very little of it. About all I ended up using from it was the clutch shoes, slider shieve, and clutch bell, I didn't use the 1500 yellow clutch spring, or the 1500 clutch shoe springs.
I should point out that 8500 rpms is 500 over redline, and I didn't hold that very long at all... I just wanted to see what Fawkes would do..

[replyingto=larry001964]larry001964[/replyingto]Yeah, as you already know, i'm not quite after the level of performance that you are,I just want ample power without wot.all the time. And I also want to keep the stock airbox. Maybe I'll have to drill some extra holes or something.I do also need to do something about the variator Though . or at least i think so.

Maybe I'll have to drill some extra holes or something.I do also need to do something about the variator Though . or at least i think so. Well I do have 5 3/8 holes drilled in the bottom of my airbox cover, this way the air still goes thru the filter, and the holes don't show to the world they are there. The performance I'm looking for is enough power not to be car or trucks splat, not to be driven into telephone poles or mail boxes by people that can't pass me properly, things like that, ohhh and I'm a 6'2" and weight 220 pounds so some power is needed for me.. Since Fawkes now has the good life, no longer out on Hwy's, or really needing speeds over 45 Mph I'm not going to power him like i did before. I have that 150 and Ill make that into a scoot and use it for the higher speeds when i need it. I'm still going to build another stroker that will fit in Fawkes and keep it as a backup. But my pushing him to his limits and beyond is no longer necessary. He's done his job getting me on my feet after being unemployed 2 years.. Now he and I are going to just enjoy the ride...

Well I just tried the Millsc mod, Leaving out the spacer between the intake and the head, Surprisingly I did get more power, Fawkes made 47 mph at 7500 rpm, at that point i had to shut him down, ran out of road LOL... yea it works getting rid of the 50cc spacer restriction..

wow thats great! hey Larry, I do feel kinda bad about the chinese scooter thread. I just took offense at the guy trying to tell me what i find a good value is not, I figure I paid 800 for the thing, and rode the heck out of it for 16000 miles by simply maintaining it and not abusing it. It still runs too! if it blew up today, it owes me nothing. I think it was a good value. anyway its water under the bridge. I'm going to do the variator & gearing next week

I'm going to do the variator & gearing next week Hi Jack I think all of us view "Value" a little differently, as everyone's finances are differently structured... I paid 650 dollars for Fawkes back in 2010, have done several upgrades, and downgrades to him.. When I bought him I was on a limited budget, and had to use a layaway plan.. But he was paid for in full before I got him... So Fawkes aside from insurance 125 per year, gas, and the upgrades are all he has cost me since 2010... Last year alone he helped me earn 40,000, the year before that, 36,000... So I consider him a great value earning far more than he cost... Also to be honest, I would not worry about what others think too much, opinions are like candy bars, there are so many different kinds and taste out there... I listen to others opinions, and apply the ones that fit my life...

I'm considered a heavy mechanic as I'm a level 8 out of 9 possible, so basically I work on any and all equipment they have. Because of sanitary concerns LOL I don't get dirty.. Even my tools are sterilized several times a day..

[replyingto=larry001964]larry001964[/replyingto]Lucky you! I can't complain though. the "old Man" owner recently passed away and his son took over. He wants me to Outsource most of the stuff we used to do in house, so I get to put out for bids, and watch contractors do a lot of things, But I still do breakdowns. It's Very large heavy equipment. but not so clean

The Slaughter process has gotten a lot more human over the years, but yea it's not something Ill ever forget.. I em consoled by the idea that no part of the hog is wasted, and that I'm helping feed millions of people.. A lot of companies are outsourcing a lot more for insurance liability, and Health Care, reasons.. Ill stop here on that one as it get political pretty quickly .. Ill just say these are the reasons it's happening an leave it there ;D

Younger generation just goes to the supermarket ;Dme too You should see how they do it in the Philippines, they dig a big hole, start a fire, let it burn down to hot coals, throw the hog on it, bury it with vent holes at both ends, let it cook all day, dig it out, and serve it... It's delicious...
