I'm sure all have seen the picture scroll at the top of the page. It's something that I've been working on awhile and it has one purpose and it's for members to send in their favorite photos and we will put them in to view.
Right now hopefully sometime this evening I will give all of you the details of how to send photos and also I'm going to put in a section just for that.
You see it scrolls right to left and just for kicks put your arrow cursor in the middle, it will go to a hand and the scroll will stop, put the cursor to the left and it will reverse going left to right.
The pictures you see right now are of my and my wife's scooters and some of the scenery too.
Again I'll get back with the how to details later on. This will also be on the new V5 forum too.

Kool Great idea I think that's so much better than just posting a pic to a thread that just sits there This way we can see, get ideas, appreciate, and admire other scoots.

images are 180X135 pixels.
There is probably no limit to the number that can be added to the library/album, the number that can go in the scrolling software well, probably limited to how many JR or I would want to put in the code lines. Each photo will need to be sent to one of us and we would have to upload it to the hosting service and then make changes in the forum code to get it posted. This will not be a easily done thing and we will probably want to save it for special pictures, projects and occasions. That has yet to be worked out.
JR has been very creative working on this, in fact no other proboards forum has had this before, he deserves a hand for spending the time working on it and getting it going.

That slider sucks just kidding you may want to look at this slider the Nivo Slider it Rocks. It's Free. dev7studios.com/nivo-slider/I happened on a Wordpress theme that has the Nivo Slider for free it is here. scooting.hostingsiteforfree.com/Theme is called Theron Lite 1.4 i set it up as a test. Just playing. This theme also does iphone/tabs. It's pretty cool.

I know the slider you are talking about well and it doesn't do what I can make this one do. I have the simple part of it up now. I can adjust it to make the images as big as a house if I want but due to the size and things we have in this forum I don't want to put images in that will make the overall board longer than it is, you have to come to a happy medium.
We need to remember people with smaller screens and resolutions. I have a new screen that is big as a flat screen TV but when I'm sizing I go to my wife's computer and adjust things to fit a smaller screen not to mention people with laptops and those who use a phone a lot.
Plus Nivo slider for the person who installs it is OK but to put images in the painful process of doing it is no easier than what I've made here. Also my goal with this script is to make it grab pictures from a spot that members post in and automatically grab them and post, can't do that with Nivo Slider it is a pbp. type plugin and one has to get and have permission to change the script which I doubt they would allow, it may be free but it's also a copyrighted licensed software, not going to go that path.
I'm still working with it and will keep all up to date.

Yupp the Nivo is a pain at the script level. Almost not worth the effort. Certainly not an on the fly setup. Changing pics is like you say difficult.

firefox 20.0.1 I am not seeing the pictures scroll. If I click a pic, it opens in a new tab. I checked it using IE9 and 10, firefox, opera and chrome all worked well. Delete your temporary internet files, re-start your computer and try again. Yes when you click on a picture it will bring up the owners host, will in the future have all images in a private host where they cannot be viewed in that matter. To make the scoller stop again just put the cursor at a spot and hold it still don not click, same to make it change directions, put cursor on left side and drag to the right. JR
