What Alley said. If enough rope was left inside the cylinder,it would trash your engine the instant it started. Foreign material inside your engine is not a good thing.

... now my top valve is really loose ... Well, that's not a good sign. I wonder if you didn't have the piston at TDC of the *compression* stroke when you did the rope trick, and ended up bending the intake valve...?

I adjusted them how i was suppose to properly ....but it still dont start my sparks blue...i was trying to remove the nut simply to de-restrict my varitator by removing the washer... I did not get it off i never got it to brake loose...i will try it again if i can get the thing started that is... Like i said before it ran great before the rope trick ruined it... What could have possible happened when the rope let the piston roll over while trying to remove that nut?

I SET MY VALVES THE CORRECT WAY AS SHOW...I HAVE BLUE SPARK AN THERE NO LACK OF IT...THE ROPE DIDNT GET DAMAGED AT ALL BECAME A LIL BLACK IS ALL. I NEVER GOT THE NUT LOOSE ON MY VARITOR I AM WILLING TO TRY A DIFFRENT TACTIC IF I CAN GET IT STARTED UP AGAIN THO... WHAT EVER HAPPENED HAPPENEND WHEN THE ROPE WASNIN THERE THO. HOW WOULD I CHECK IF THE VALVE IS BENT. IM STUCK!

What could of happened is it sheared the woodruff key holding the FLYWHEEL in its position and now it is out of time. So to check that take the black cover off the flywheel and then line up the CAM SPROCKET like in the picture and TAKE A PICTURE of the POINTER ON THE CASE(THE YELLOW IN THE PICTURE) and where it is pointing on the FLYWHEEL(THE RED). You can also tell if the one of the valves is bent. As you bring it up to TDC(aligning the cam Sprocket as if your to adjust them) you can recheck the Valve Gap and take a picture of the FLywheel and pointer. Then Rotate it several times and see if the VALVE STEMS go up and down properly. Alleyoop

What could of happened is it sheared the woodruff key holding the FLYWHEEL in its position and now it is out of time. That could only have happened if he were trying to break the variator nut free while holding the flywheel stationary, on the other side of the engine - but it doesn't sound like that's what he did. Justin - you first need to do a compression check, with a proper gauge. If it's low, then - To check for bent (leaking) valves, remove the valve cover again, set to TDC of the compression stroke (like Alley's earlier posted picture), loosen both valve adjuster nuts/screws so they are waay loose, and then - while holding the crankshaft at TDC with a wrench - somehow pressurize the cylinder with compressed air through the spark plug hole (like with a firmly held rubber-tipped air gun, a leakdown tester, a homemade hose and fitting, etc...) - a bent valve will leak the pressurized air, and you will hear it hissing noticeably from either the carburetor/intake or from the exhaust/muffler.

I have decided if it is a piston or bent valve that id upgrade to a 80cc bore kit..for the price on ebay i might as well if i have to pull the motor apart like that any how...around 50 bucks does anyone no if those kits are complete or if id have to buy extra stuff as well?

Doesn't matter if its a tao, roketa ,peace sports, jonway, xingyue, jinlun etc they all are 139qmb or 1p39qmb motors different tao's come with different valve lengths even though they are they same brand so if you bought one with the head included its got to be the right size 64mm or 69mm if its wrong you'll have to replace the rocker arms with the right ones in order for it to work or use your stock head if its in good working order, which is iffy since the piston was cracked. It was cracked from over heating or cracked from hitting the valves or head which could cause damage to the valves, so i hope its from a lean condition
