This is one man's opinion........if your 50cc isn't enough power/speed, get a 150cc machine. If a 150cc isn't enough to float your boat, move up to a 250cc machine, and so on. Don't try to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear....You'll be a happier camper. I generally agree with you, but in my build, I want a certain style. I know most folks that scoot apparently don't care about looks, (I've seen some pretty hideous machines out there)but I have a bike that I absolutely love the look, style, way it handles, etc., but it is a 50cc, it needs more torque for the hills around my area, and that's the only size they make this particular bike in. So I've been on a seemingly never-ending quest to find a bottom mounted 150-250cc engine to upgrade, while still maintaining the stock look. I found an engine that fit the bill, the only problem is, that it is in another fairly rare style, so the used market just isn't plentiful with candidates to cannibalise. So I'm actually considering buying a brand new, in the crate bike, just to get everything I need for the swap, because ordering it all peice by peice would cost almost as much as the new bike anyway. Since the engine will fit going 50 to 150, it should work the other way as well and go 150 to 50, and I'll be able to put my old engine into the new bike as well, and end up with a bike to sell afterwards to negate most of the cost of the swap. I know it sounds complicated and totally not worth it, but seriously, there's not another scooter in the world like it (trust me, I've checked), and it deserves to be the bike that the manufacturer SHOULD HAVE built in the first place but didn't. In case you're wondering, the bike in question is a Tao Tao Racer 50, and it definitely deserves the upgrade, imho.

52mm is 88cc. If they are telling you otherwise, they're lying. The largest displacement that you can go right now on a QMB139 engine is a 52.4mm BBK with a 44mm stroker crank. That setup tops at 94.9cc. Matt

I have to point this out all the time of these scammers not being able to do First Grade math.. .7854XBoreXBoreXStroke=cc Is that so hard for a Top Rated Five Star whatever E-bay seller to be able to do? Could we imagine what they would do if they actually had to count out change without a register telling them what to do..

You didn't tell me what brand the rings are!! I know about the displacement, and thats cool. I know you can't make a 50cc more than 88cc's mathematicaly. I just want to know what brand of rings to buy!!!

I just want to know what brand of rings to buy!!! That would be Nippon ring or stamped on the ring will be NPR from Japan the premier OE supplier to Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha and others. Higher end American made piston manufacturers also supply NPR with there pistons Sorry I don't have the smaller bore size rings that you would need.

Hey guys whats up! I haven't heard from anyone for a while. Am I on the black list or something? My arm is healing quite slowly because I can't stop riding my scoot and the ribs along with it. I just thought I would check in and say howdy to everyone. I got the scoot running good and peppy. I can actually accelerate uphill. I'm happy but my body isn't lol.
