I've seen it ,,,worked on an older jag 12 cylinder sedan all the so called pros "knew " what was wrong,,,I called it as soon as I heard it run,,they laughed me out of the place ,,,3 days later the owner called me after he fired the "professionals",,,2 days after that it was purring like a kitten,,,and one very happy classic jag owner,,,

It's back to square 1 my starter crapped out too. I guess I'll have to start over and re assemble the whole motor. I've done it so much I can strip it down and re do it in about 2hrs lol you gutta love it!!! My scoot is lucky I love it or it would have been all over the yard in pieces and those ain't Reeses pieces!!

I think you were right about the air leak there was no exhaust gasket in the head. It's all back together but I can't run it till I get a starter. There is no reason it shouldn't start now I'm praying. Thankyou for the good call on that. Time will tell when I get my starter. I just hope I don't miss any good riding days. I'm up for a nice long relaxing ride. God Bless!!

It might not be a bad idea to take a look at your kickstart assembly and see what’s going on with that.

When you put the old head back on did you check the valve settings again before attempting to fire it up? I remember you said you tried the old one after the other head had a bent valve.

Yes I set them at .004 I think its the wireing on my cdi when I move them around enough it fires up. I'm replacing the cdi and the connections. I have to take it apart again anyway to put the new big valve head and gasket in and I always check my valve gap before the valve cover goes back on. I had it running last night but the connections aren't good. So after that I think the problem should be solved.

I will say that it’s nice to see some determination here from a member wanting to get things done without giving up. Reminds me of myself, although there were a few times where I could’ve ghost ridden this scoot off a cliff, lol.

I know what you mean! My brother in law keeps telling me I could have bought a new scoot, but I will master this one. This is my little harley, and I'm wondering if I can put bigger wheels like 12"? I'm paranoid about these 10" wheels. He's always sinking hundreds at a time on his Harley! I think he's worried that my scoot is gonna be faster than his Harley D lol.

I just swapped the two top rings from my older 50mm piston to my new one. Was that a bad idea? The new rings opened way up and it was hard getting it back in the cylinder jug. The older rings looked to be in good shape so I swapped them. I thought the top ring looked like it was going to break and the second didn't look much better. The older rings certainly fit the piston much better. Well I'll just hope for the best I hope it doesn't burn oil.

Not a good idea on the Rings Did you check the End Gap to make sure the ends were Not Butting together? That could be a Dead Giveaway ya have wrong rings like for a 51 or 52mm piston.. I wish I could have worked with ya to solve this before ya installed the old rings. Ring Seal is critical...

The old rings are great perfect fit and no oil bypass. The scoot runs perf. Where did you get your rings? I want some for my next 52mm rebuild for next season. You guys have been so much help for me. Let me know about the rings I want some of those in my scoot. Any brand name parts you use also if you don't mind. I was eyeballing some scorpion stuff I heard they have good parts Taiwanese! Any imput is great I really appreciate everything!! God Bless!!

Got in a accident with my scoot. I have a broken toe a broken arm and some bruised ribs. I can't get my clutch to open so I can get slack to get the belt back on the variator What should I do for this dilemma? I want to get back on for a ride when we have some nice riding days up here in Massachusetts!!! I would appreciate some imput here.
