Should my 2016 Kymco Super 8 150 be happy with 10% ethanol, or not? We have what is called "Rec Ninety" fuel 'round here - ninety octane, no ethanol. Would that be better than ninety-three octane e-blend? My scooter mechanic - the "Scooter Genie" - says to run the ninety-three octane blended stuff - and he deals mainly with the lower-end Chinese stuff - think new Baccios (like TaoTaos) and repair of old Chinese scooters. I ran one tank of the "Rec Ninety" stuff recently because, quite frankly, I needed gas and serendipitously pulled into the Valero in Port Salerno that had it. I said to my wife "hey, I'm gonna try this stuff - I read about it on the scooter board..." I guess I should have tried a few tanks... Try not to get all caught up in the technicals here. keep it simple, The ethanol absorbs moisture so the longer the fuel sits in your tank the more water it has absorbed, also the Ethanol is corrosive to Aluminum so the longer it sits there were you may run into problems. if you ride your Scoot weekly for months and months on end your constantly refilling you should and will suffer no ill effects. My Scoot and my CBR may sit for three or four weeks at a time especially this time of year so I have a good source for non Eth fuel I use

We run her every weekend - unless it is raining - and will occasionally go through 2 tanks in one day...

I happened to be close to the "Rec Ninety" gas station when we needed gas today, so I did the non-ethanol thing...I'm going to run a few tanks, and see if I notice any difference...

Be good to flush the system with a few tanks you being in humid Florida Ill place my bet on you won't notice any difference.

I've been running corn squeezins for a number of years here in the SoCal area ,,,and sometimes (not often) my rides will sit for 2-3 weeks without a start ,, never had a problem but it's relatively dry here so that may be a factor,,,altho lately we've been rain central

Oi, send some of that rain on over to Alb. please, cy'.
I'd like to test my car on e80 or whatever they call that, since it's capable of burning it. Just curious how it would affect performance (esp MPG). However the lone station that carried it no longer does. And I'm not that curious (ok, too lazy) to go hunt up another station.

My new 2017 Kymco People GT 300i owner's manual says to use ninety-one octane unleaded fuel. No mention of ethanol at all. My question - should I use ninety-one or ninety-three octane ethanol blend (up to 10%, they say...), or should I use ninety octane non-ethanol fuel?

Either or and your more than fine. do what the manual says, I wouldn't overthink this whole thing.. Looks like you ride allot in Florida so you always have new fuel going in I have four bikes and four four wheel vehicles they only mention "Fuel" not "Gas" and none mentions Ethanol except my Slobalt that will run on E- if ya can find it.. Here is one of my manuals..
