If you still have the other mirror in your set, you can find thread adapters online. www.amazon.com/adapter-counter-clockwise-scooter-motorcycle/dp/B00K757SGW/I just ordered a pair of 10mm to 8mm adapters for mine. I will have to wait a while for them to arrive, so I can't say how well they work yet. I'm pretty new to this, so I don't know a lot about it.This is the only set I could find on Amazon that converts a 10mm clockwise to counter-clockwise. You might find some more options on Ebay.

Thanks for the response, geh3333 ! My brakes don't have much bite & I'm afraid that they might not be able to stop me safely (I'm gripping them with full force and I'm unable to lock them up). I ordered new brake shoes for one of my wheels to see if it fixes the problem. The grooved ones sound neat, since I live in an area with a lot of rainfall... But I decided to go with the standard ones. If this works, I'll buy the grooved brakes for my other wheel and see how it goes... If not, I guess I've got other problems . This is for my 1983 Suzuki FA50 (shown in my signature), which has less than 1,000 miles on it. That's not a lot of use, but I was thinking the old brakes might have gotten less effective with age. I'm not sure if they do that or not... This is my first vehicle, so I'm learning as I go.

I was wondering what the difference is between grooved vs standard drum brakes. I read that the grooved brakes give better performance when wet, but I'm wondering if they are less effective than the standard brakes under normal conditions.
Should I mix and match? Grooved on one wheel, standard on the other?

oldchopperguy, those are great designs. I could recognize the Ruckus roots of the first one instantly. The Vespucci matches what I'd be looking for when I graduate from my 50cc. All that cargo space.

SylvreKat - If I end up riding around in a banana suit, I'll be sure to post pics . earlwb - That's cool. I wonder what kind of range you get if the scent is released up in the air. I hope this isn't something that will bother someone who has a sensitivity to strong smells.

I like it. That lets the tailgaters know that maybe it isn't such a good idea to follow so close.

I was reading the Complete Idiot's Guide to Motor Scooters and it mentioned that there was two-stroke oil that came in fragrances. Berry scented and things like that. Being the owner of a two-stroke, I figured that sounds kind of fun so I started googling and came upon something called "fuel fragrance" that you mix with your gasoline. It'll work on four-stroke too... Doesn't work if your vehicle has a catalytic converter though. Has anyone tried this stuff before? Any opinions? I'm somewhat considering using this in my tank... While wearing this... If they didn't see me before, they will get a whiff of the banana fumes. Then they will be alert. Their focus will be drawn to me. They will be looking for bananas and then they will find them. A 5'11" banana riding a little yellow scooter. High-Vis achieved. I'd have to fit a DOT approved helmet into that banana suit though.

Hey, cool. I might have to pick up some of that Dr. Whitewall... And keep a lookout on craigslist for a Kymco People 200s ;-)

Gmax has some helmets with rear lighting that you can pair with a wireless brake light kit.

Hi, I'm Shawn. I'm a new rider from Eugene, Oregon. I just got my first vehicle and hope to be licensed and riding by the end of May. For those interested, I know of a local shop that stocks parts and does work for Chinese scoots (I'm not affiliated). "Viper Motorsports". I hope to upgrade to a Honda touring scoot once I "graduate" from my 50cc
