I was on eBay and came across THIS one... ICE BEAR FREE SHIP ~NEW 2014 ICE BEAR MADDOG 150cc FULL SIZE Motor Bike Gas Scooter Moped
Looks to me to be just what a lot of 150 riders spend a LOT of time and some money cobbling up themselves... FACTORY MADE!
Ruckus type frame, lowered, adjustable shocks, cycle-type gauges... "Nekkid" bare-bonz "skelly" ride with huge fat rear wheel and tire... Slick little rear-lights, chopper-style seat... VERY sharp, and, comes in all sorts of frame colors.

This looks like the best factory-custom scooter to come down the road (pun intended... LOL!) in a LONG time. With the stripped-frame, the neatly done wiring, nice clamps and mounts, etc. are a welcome touch. Something you'd be proud to ride. The low, stripped frame, fat rear wheel/tire and seat setup alone would cost a LOT to do yourself. The listing shows a lot of details including nice folding pegs, lights, slick air-intake and filter... all sorts of things you'd have to add or change on an existing scoot... The eBay price was $1,850 with FREE shipping!
Could be, this would be a great scoot for someone wanting the "skelly" look, with nice aftermarket parts, and NO cutting, adding to, fitting, etc. I've simply not seen such a "complete" scooter done this well from the factory, and it would be cheaper than building one equal to it yourself...
Would I ride one of these? As the old "Ambien Beaver" might say to Abe Lincoln; "AB-SO-LOOT-LEE!"
Food for thought, for the hot-rodded Ruckus customer!
Enjoy!

Call Kat......It's comes in PINK! I'm here! While I do like the pink, I'm not really a fan of the nekkid bike look. So I'll pass and let rocky go for it! >'Kat

Yup, it DOES come in pink! Just begging for a "Hello Kitty" decal... LOL!
The appeal of this one is that it's not just a factory-custom... They actually paid attention to detail. Looking at it close up, it really DOES have nearly ALL the touches one would do himself if making a scoot like this. They went "the extra mile" with the design. SOMEBODY at Ice Bear has been watching what the tuner boyz are building, and paying attention!
I'm thinking one would have to pay $1,000 for a basic scooter, then spend at LEAST another grand in parts to build something similar... Not to mention a full season of building and painting, then getting it fine-tuned. With this one, all you'd need to do is the "fine-tuning". And all for less than two-grand. Plus, of course, 5-bucks for the Hello Kitty decal... LOL!
I wouldn't care to give up the performance and convenience (no way to carry many groceries on a "skelly") of my old 250, but if a 150 would meet my needs, THIS is definitely one I'd have to check out! Looks like a LOT of fun for the money.
And it's listed at a weight of only 200 pounds or so... So... it should be pretty quick for a 150.
Ride safe,

Skunk Shampoo,
THAT'S what I thought too! I'm an old chopper guy (that's where my "handle" came from) from the sixties, and this kind of scooter will always appeal to those who like chopped/bobbed Harleys, Indians and Brit bikes...
It's a highly-affordable way to have a ride that will REALLY turn heads, handle well and be fairly-quick as an alternative to spending MANY thousands of dollars. Pretty nice for TODAY'S suburban rider...
Ride safe!

I think 200 pounds is the weight of the chain that you would have to have to secure it outside of the grocery store.....

I like the easy engine access. Sits a bit low. Stretch your hamstrings before riding.

"Could def use some leather tho." Thats the good thing about a naked scoot. You can always add more stuff.

Wow oldchopperguy - that's a heck of a find! Gives me something to think about when my next scooter purchase rolls around. Love that look! C'mon now, ya' jus' got a swell NEW one yourself! LOL! Gave ya' a bone for your great posts... I'm thinking the ride you got is probably a LOT more practical for enjoying the countryside than this super-low scoot. It's got a unique Euro "Café Racer" look, with a hint of "off-road". Pretty cool! And, with your new one, you CAN get "modestly" off-road, at least on hard trails in your NJ countryside. That's worth a lot considering how pretty your local scenery is. You can also bring a passenger, and adding a trunk wouldn't make it look weird. The skelly-scoots look fabulous, but, like choppers, they're pretty much on-road, "transportation only" and even that with a solo rider.
Now, as for "the look"... Hmmm... The one and ONLY change I'd personally consider for your sweet new ride, would be to carefully attempt to remove the "Future" lettering from the "Future Champion"... LOL! "VIP Champion" reads fine... Yup... Nothing "future" about it at all; you already HAVE the little champ!
I truly don't know just how the Chinese come up with their cosmetic name/model decals... HeHeHe... We have "Future Champion" "Go Fast Boy" "Boy Racer" and THE all-time goodie, "WUSSY".
Cheesh! I guess I could "live" with the others... But... WUSSY might drive me to get out the sanding disk... LOL!
No disrespect meant here... WUSSIES are nice, modern Chinese 150's... It's just that NAME... What WERE they thinking?
Here in Texas, we always say: "Dance with the one what brung ya'..." I think your ride is a mighty good dancing partner!
I noticed you mentioned adventures with the Widow. Did you nick-name your scoot "Black Widow"? If so, it's a great name... You could even make a fabulous Black Widow decal for the nose (or any place...) and clear-coat over it for a great look! It's easy to make your own decals on an ordinary computer printer.
Ride safe!

Hey Leo thanks, I really appreciate it! I COMPLETELY agree with that whole "Future Champion" thing, and have some creative solutions in the planning stages now, though I may not get around to them until those super cold winter days are upon me.
Chingresh is one of my favorite things on Earth, and it's always hilarious to me to see their renditions of what might be "cool" English. I wonder if our popular Chinese & Japanese kanji are as amusing to those respective people, haha.
Oh! The name. For now, she's just the Widow - in the future, she may be any number of colors, but black will likely remain the primary.
