did you dissasemble the carb and clean it? I take it you didn't find anything loose in the cvt. You really need to get a battery, and start it with the cover off

Are you positive it's a 2 stroke? The word cam on the scoot puzzles me. 2 strokes have no cam

you can also start it with the cover off, and watch and listen. you may see what's jumping around.

Ok first, wiggle that little starter gear under the cover with two screws, or remove the cover and look in the little protrusion for a bronze bushing.. a tiny one. second.you see that little shaft comming off the clutch? on mine, a bearing went on there. see if the cover has a bearing or a place for one. If its missing, that shaft dances around in the cover and makes noise.

[replyingto=rowenj]rowenj[/replyingto]I would still check for that bearing. vento used those quinggjang motors The bearing was actually outside the clutch, and the cvt cover is the housing.

Is that a 4 stroke QJ-QMB139? If it is, theres a bearing in the back of the cvt cover. chances are, that's the noise. The smoke? is it burning oil?

Yea always count the number of BOLTS ON THE CVT COVER, if it has 10 bolts it is a LONG CASE if it has 8 bolts it is a short case. Alleyoop I had a shortcase with( I THINK IT WAS12) bolts on the cvt cover. It was one of those quingjang qmb139's. I think what they did was use a 2 cycle case. The transmission components were different too. It had an outboard bearing for the clutch mounted in the cover. Dam near impossible to find parts for ;D
