Found this on CL in my town for $60. 260 miles on the engince and tranny is new Thought? Worth getting as a backup? Is it a GY6 short case? Will it fit my scoot? Lol york.craigslist.org/mcy/3830900983.html |

It is a LONG CASE motor NOT a short case motor.

Yea always count the number of BOLTS ON THE CVT COVER, if it has 10 bolts it is a LONG CASE if it has 8 bolts it is a short case.

Alleyoop I had a shortcase with( I THINK IT WAS12) bolts on the cvt cover. It was one of those quingjang qmb139's. I think what they did was use a 2 cycle case. The transmission components were different too. It had an outboard bearing for the clutch mounted in the cover. Dam near impossible to find parts for ;D |

That is true, but your GY6 motors you can count on the number of bolts to determine whether its a long case or short case. And even then you may get the wrong motor there are TWO long case motors one is longer than the other(HAHA).
