check with www.grainger.com Also check your local industrial bearing supply houses. Those are very common bearings. Don't let anyone overcharge you for them especially bike shops.Should'nt be more than 5-7.00 each

As an industrial mechanic myself for ove 30 yrs, I can totally identify with alleyoop, Sometimes mechanics and people with a lot of experience and knowledge can seem abrupt and brash and even impatient , I know i get that way with people, and i can assure you,no ill intent is meant by it. you have to have some thick skin, and not take everything to heart sometimes. the guy is here trying to help everyone who asks.Us older guys arent so sensitive and politically correct all the time. thats just the way it is, and it aint gonna change. You cant concentrate on a solution to a problem if you are busy thinking about how the guy will "feel" about it. Emotions are not part of mechanical technology. Now, hopefully this is all out of the way, and we can get down to scooter talk

Web is full of stories of RP foaming, myself as a former Maintenance manager I've seen first hand multi thousand dollar ammonia compressors shut down because of it and the company I worked for sued RP and settled for millions in damages. Yes industrial oil is different than motor oil but that's all it took for me to never try it in any thing I ride or drive. Add the outrageous cost and the fact that I have 4 scooters totaling over 29k in miles on good old plain affordable Castrol dino oil tells me I don't need it. I wouldn't put RP in my lawn mower. :)Of course not! the lawn mower is a valuable tool I had the same experience with a 150 hp sullair screw compressor. Not RP, but synthetic nonetheless,Foamed like heck. fouled every control and safety on it. Repaired it Flushed it and have used dino turbine oil ever since. I don't like synthetic. JR

I don't use them myself, but I was following this thread. I find it extremely amusing, (and typical for R.I.) In this stare, you do not have to wear a helmet on any bike of any size, Yet it's illegal to even have(helmet) earbuds in your possesion And you can get pulled over and cited for not wearing a seatbelt in your car! Go Figure

Gears

Remove the rear tire, remove the clutch, and you will see the bolts for the geaarbox. contrary to what some people say, You don't need to change the gear oil. one time to get rid of the chinese stuff and thats it! good for the life of the scooter. However, in your case, since it overheated, I would change the gear oil.. If you can spin your rear wheel by hand easily, the problem is not the gears. the clutch is probably slipping. It is not the contra spring, but probably theclutch shoes themselves, try a good brake parts cleaner nd some sandpaper.

I would check the clutch and variator first, clean everything up good.while you have the clutch off, you can open up the gearbox and check all the bearings. ;D It's unlikely the gears themselves are at fault. Either a bearing or a spacer or shim.More than likely though, it's the clutch. Be real careful opening it up! it's spring loaded, and could hurt you. Also make sure the vent in the cvt cover is clear.

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]What I did was to open the fan cover and check the color codes and also ring out all the wires with an ohmmeter. What I found is the HV supply wire from the stator was broken inside the chinese style Butt connector and covered with shrink tubing. I removed all that, and properly spliced the wire and VOILA! spark! there is no problem with the cdis Thanks for helping me out
