no, It's the windings. No gearing in a starter, It's just an electric motor

The mods I did on mine,(thanks in part to millsc's advice)made a huge difference in acceleration from stop, climbing hills, and a modest top end increase. I can go 47-50 mph on flats. The greatest advantage is getting out into the traffic safely and quickly. Why anyone would want to ride a 50cc frame any faster than 50 MPH is beyond me.

wait a minute! I find 47 on a stock 50cc impossible. maybe downhill with a good backwind

What kind of cdi do you have? if there is a wire on the kill switch terminal, try disconnecting it.I had a wire on mine. It went to a speed sensor, and the cdi cut out after 30MPH. Attachments:

anything that lets more air in leans out the mix.If you are running a stock 50cc, Put it back the way it was. If you want to tweak performance, lighten up on the variator weights. Or get a BBK

not if we all know it's an experiment,(a shot in the dark). The idea is 20 people losing $10 beats one losing 200.Iff, by some chance itt's for real,I think a lot of us will be ordering scooters. If we get enough people to join in,each of us kicks in less.otherwise, we just forget about it, and we'll never know. I could live withthat too

So it's the one that's giving you problems? maybe it's defective. I thought you had a couple of different carbs.I have that same carb with a n85 jet

Thats exactly the idea I had in mind. Do you want to handle this?We would need more participants, How many in now, around six of us? Would probably choose to order the least expensive one too.
