What is it in the high torque starters, that makes it different from the stock ones ?? Is it gearing or something like that ?? Thanks for any input. Aloha !! ;D

no, It's the windings. No gearing in a starter, It's just an electric motor

i have a high torque starter and a 230cca battery cranks the scoot like a champ

no, It's the windings. No gearing in a starter, It's just an electric motor Yup Pretty Much. Best for Big Bore Kits, High Compression engines and stroked engines. I run the Taida Starter in my race scooter.

yeah, and a stronger magnet. Don"t open it up! it is a s.o.b. to put back together.the brushes are small.

I think it can be corrected with timing . I bet it heaver too same with the battery. When racing you want to shed weight . John
