Does anyone know the diameter of the brake drum on the back wheel? Is the back wheel the same as the front wheel? I've got a poor tire on the rear and almost new on front and I was gonna switch them till spring

When I bought my TOMOS Nitro 150 new it came with a 7BS battery, all I did was pour the electrolytes in the battery and it lasted 3 full years before I had to replace it at the beginning of winter. Of course I ride my scoot year round so that probably made a difference. Most of the time I hear of people only getting 6 to 9 months on a battery

I am wanting to change my elite wheels from tubed to tubeless, does anyone know what alternative wheel would fit? I have been told Honda Metropolitan will fit but was wondering if their are others. I have a wheel of a VIP scooter but I haven't tried it yet, I'm wondering if the drums are the same diameter

This problem has been solved permanently.
What I did was use needle nose pliers to break off the cap that limits how far you can turn the mixture screw. Then I took the mixture screw completely out of the carb, put a small piece of electrical tape around it (so I didn't grove the jet) and I put it in a vise (gently) and used a hacksaw blade to cut a groove in the top so I could use a flat screwdriver on it. I put the screw back in and turned it out 1 turn (normally 2 to 2 1/2) and now my scoot will fire up and run even at 10 degrees with no issue, just start it and let it idle, of course once you get it running the idle might need reset a little.
So for those of you that own a Honda Elite CH80 and have the same issue this is the way to fix it without taking it to a dealer. (I would have rather done this with a dremel tool but didn't have one)

I just found a site online to download almost every service manual for scooters. The service manual says that the carburetor has an air screw stop that can be removed for better adjustment. Here is the website for the service manual if anyone else needs one. Www.motorscooterguide.net/downloads/downloads.html

I have the carburetor turned as far as the screw will let me turn it. On the screw there are two tabs that only allow it to turn so far either way.
Tomorrow I will have to take a picture and post it so you can see what I mean. I have seen this kind of screw on homelite brand weed eater carbs.
Would a plug with a hotter range make any difference? In the manual it says to use a CR6HS for operating temperatures of 45 and below instead of the standard CR7HS.

Well I'm back at it again. Thought I had this thing figured out but today I went out and once again she won't start, the temp is 35 and it will start for a sec then die. I can't touch the throttle either or it won't start at all. There's a hotter plug available for this would that help at all

I got rid of my cheap Taotao thunder 50, it looked cool and had led lighting but it just plain sucked even downhill I was barely reaching 45. I moved up and got a Honda elite 80

Thanks for the advice I will check the rim but on my 97 Honda elite 80 I think the rims are tube type only.
As far as running tubes in tubeless tires I have heard many different opinions, some have said that tubeless tires are rougher around the inside and can rub a hole in a tube, then others tell me it's fine. And now I find tires that say TT/TL meaning tube type or tubeless so I guess the best thing to do is just try it.

This issue is solved, I went out this morning about 3 when it was 30 degrees and I richened up the carb and turned the idle up just a bit and it fired up like a champ

The carb looks like the one in the top picture except mine don't have the oil input on it my elite is a 4 stroke.
There is a plastic piece that prevents the screw from being turned more then maybe a 1/4 turn either way. Is there a larger carb available for this bike? I know the elite 80 don't have a lot of upgrade options

My 97 Honda elite ch80 needs tires, can I use a tubeless tire with a tube and not have any problems? I am having problems finding tubed tire. Has anyone used the stock wheel and been able to go tubeless?

There is also a hotter plug available for this bike (CR6HS) would that make a difference?

The screw on the carb is restricted you can only move it from about a noon to 3 position (maybe 1/2 turn)
Should I go richer or leaner since its hard to start when cold? I already know the idle is way to low even when it's warm so I know I need to adjust that also. But I am going to do both in the morning when it's colder here it's been in the mid 40s

Awesome thanks for the info, next week when I install my new HP coil and cdi I will check it out. What would cause it not to start good on a cold day? Would it be to rich or lean when the choke is on?
And how far should the adjustment screw be out? (I know on the gy6 50s they say 3 turns max)
