The orange cdi is a fixed timing . They do operate well . Some find with bbk's trouble cranking . I have found a variable timing cdi . They ease in starting and when yoi hit 3000 rpm it will advance the ignition timing . John Really, wow i sure could have used one this winter, what one it is John ?

That's a really interesting suggestion, I had forgotten that the a9 cam can improve top speed too, and that's what I'm looking for. I do subscribe to the 1 modification at a time principle though (easier to diagnose if something goes wrong), so I wouldn't be doing the kit and cam at the same time. I think I'll make the cam my very next step after the kit and gears. It's been my experience that the cam also provides more low end torque, something that will be needed with taller gears, quite a few that go with a 50mm kit seldom do much with the gearing, most of the time the new bbk provides more torque to take advantage of the stock gearing. I'm thinking this should push you to 45 without redlining if your variator is set up correctly.. After 45 every MPH gained gets more and more expensive..

Hi Endru, The stroker can be quite a handful, personally I don't recommend it with the 52 mm anyway. Makes starting too hard, and componets like the variator and drive belt don't hold up well with the power or heat it produces. I suggest you read the threads on Hanks scoot "Spector" or "Red Streak" and my build both are on the old scootdawg site i believe. Good luck hope this helps.

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]Thanks Millsc, I just answered some questions about the stroker, that was my main goal. That's why I'm downgrading him a bit, tired of always having to build parts to work. Would like to buy off the shelf like everyone else.. Do you have any pics of your build posted ? I would love to see them
