Hi Jerseyboy I think the best thing you can do is wax your scooter plastics with a auto wax that has UV protection..

I am not saying all Chinese scooters are a total P.O.S. like a $695 internet special. But the fact remains, even the so called "better" Chinese scooter (like Znen is supposed to be) does not use the same grade metal as Taiwanese or Japanese scooter manufacturers. Plain and simple, mile for mile a Kymco, Genuine or Sym engine will on average far outlast anything Chinese manufactured. Some of these Taiwanese offer budget models that are assembled in China to cut labor costs. If they are making the effort to lower the price, why then do they still use Taiwanese manufactured engines? If a Chinese engine is just as good, why would they not use that and offer even a lower price? There's a very good reason for that, and you guys know it. Are Chinese scooters much improved these days? Maybe. Will a Chinese scooter offer reasonable service life? Well, compared to what they used to be, if you think reaching 10k-15k is good, then yes. But now that a "budget" Taiwanese scooter only costs 25% - 50% more than a "better" Chinese scooter, and it will last at least 2 to 3 times longer, how are you saving money (and time) with a Znen? Really, it's simple math... Gitsum, where do you get your math ? I em asking where you are getting your figures as to longevity ? From what I'm seeing Kymco don't last any longer than any other Chinese scooter.. The only exception Ive seen is Aprila, they do very much seem to last.. Where I live, many ride scooters, where I work is in a small town surrounded by other small towns 20 to 30 miles away.. Many many guys ride their scooters from these small towns to my job.. I have seen many a kymco go down with major problems such as rods knocking, failed oil pumps, ect.. A few i have fixed and have seen the inside of those 139's.. I can tell you I saw no difference in actual engine than the Chinese 139, nor did I see any difference in the metals used in their manufacture, and engine failure rates seem to be about the same...

I thought I read on here that since these were just little scooters, that we didn't need helmets. That we never went fast enuf to need a helmet if we got hit. Hmmmm, I think it was prodigit who said that Yea prodigit justifies not using a helmet, I think you will find most here don't agree with that, a simple fall without even being moving can cause sever damage to your head even if not moving. Most vehicles weigh 1500 pounds and up, and even the smallest bump on the road can send you down, animals can also cause one to go down. Any number of things can happen on the road... It is really unwise to ride any 2 wheeled motor vehicle on the road without a helmet...

you know, that was part of my thinking when I bought the complete engine from scrappys. It says on the website that it is "generally a much beefier version of the stock qmb139.Did scrappys give you a head with that kit? I havent yey made my decision on what to do about this, take the offer or get a refund. Jack A bbk is no big deal to install, so I went with the deal they offered, Just figured id install the bb head, cam, gearing, 20mm carb, and hp exhaust when i did the bbk.

[replyingto=salracer]sailracer[/replyingto]Well I have two NCY 50mm big bore heads, and an NCY HP cam, so i didn't even ask if it came with a bb head.. I don't know if it comes with one, Just never even thought to ask..

Here's a thought, Can you fit the crank, and top end of that motor in a qmb139 case?Or are the Jug bolts in a bigger pattern? Just thinking outside of the box Yea the Jug and piston are much bigger, and the 139 drive components would never withstand the stresses of that.. i had trouble with just 100cc's and the drive components..

Hi guys, Well here was the deal from scrappy, They decided to send me a new long case 139 engine with a 100 bbk (83cc actual). The 150cc engine they told me to keep.. Shelly was saying it would cost more to ship it back to them than it's worth, Needless to say I'm very surprised... So I guess I have a 150 engine... I Wish so badly i could fit it in Fawkes, but lots of mods on that and I don't have access to a welder to reposition the motor mounts.. So I'm not sure what to do with this 150, But I'm thinking about finding a 150 frame and putting it in that.. Hi Larry outstanding That turned out very well in the end, congratulations Kudos to Shelly and scrappys, they done you good ;D Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank Yea they did do me good, and that is why i posted it... So many times only the bad news is what travels and not the good... I felt like i should post the good scrappy did me..

According to Shelly, (Scrappy) All the GY6 100's were mislabeled at the factory, and in reality contain 150's.... I was just the first person to get receive his engine and discover the problem. She left a message on my phone while i was working saying she had a couple alternatives for me.. Ive returned her phone call twice today, But Shelly was not in yet.. Told them I go to work at 1:00, so they are suppose to return my call and tell my what we can do to correct this....
Some how I'm thinking they are going to try to give me a standard 139 50 cc and the difference in money back or a full refund and i send the engine back... We will see... This is what happens when someone sells something they don't have in stock !!!
Moral of the story, Never accept backorders.. Either they have it or they don't..

I'm Really very very very upset now at Scrappydog.... They sent me a 150 cc engine not the GY6-100 I ordered... All this waiting and wasted time... ducking emails and phone calls... And for what this ?
Scrappy you can't put a 150 in a 139 frame with out lots of mods, This is not what I ordered.... What are you thinking ?
