Remember when the Honda 750 four only made 40 hp? A lot of VWs only made 40 hp.

If you see a cool engine design, post it here. It can be automotive, scooter, motorcycle, aviation, marine, industrial or even electric motors. We hope the hi-tech stuff trickles down to something affordable by us mortals. I will start with with the Mercedes-AMG inside-V engine. Turbos are mounted inside the Vee, to keep hot/cold mixtures separate and facilitate easier packaging. More info in the video. After the chalk talk, the vid becomes more of a sales pitch.

Agreed, Leo. In the 60s, a muscle car needed 300 hp to get noticed. Some had over 400 hp (and drum brakes !). These days, top of the line Mopars, Fords and Chevys can put out close to twice the HP. Life is good (if you can afford it).

"Macho ? You young kids today have NO CONCEPT of macho....." Agreed, cookies. Maybe somebody will make a Dirty Harry video game to expose the younger generation to true machoism.

Sorry to hear about you loss. I owned a cat until I got married. I even had a cat while I was in the USMC.

If you keep that up, your daughter may be the next Ashley Force or Danica Patrick. Welcome to the forum.

"You move 16 tons and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt!" Me and Tennessee Ernie Ford vote for the coal miner.

It was black in the rear area around the taillights. The rest was white. I believe it was from the round rear window (in the sedans) era.

"I think the beach boys got my vote " I listened to Beach Boys CDs all the time when I drove a Corvette. I drove that 78 Corvette for 9 years. I wish I had it again. "Wouldn't it be Nice".

Thought of this one on a car trip to MS this weekend. Roadhouse Blues by the doors. "Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel".

Off topic, but I saw a spotless Taurus wagon on I-10 in Louisiana today. It must have been safely stashed in somebody's garage for years to be in such fine condition. I wish I could have snapped a pic for Kat, but I could not get to my phone.

That great article talks about how Piaggio had to transition from building war planes to building affordable scooters. -Heinkel had to transition from building heavy bombers to scooters. -BMW and Messerschmitt transitioned from aviation to building tiny, affordable transportation like the Isetta and KR200. -Mitsubishi (remember the Zero?) transitioned to building cars and trucks. I'm sure there were many more. -Piaggio has outlasted them all.

I had never seen a pic of the The Duke with a scooter before. That was a great find.

Coincidently, the last live musical I attended was "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". I am still voting for the Wolfman. Being good at organic chemistry no es macho.
