Intersections are the most dangerous. You really need to look both ways twice, even if you have had the green for a while. This is the worst scooter crash I've ever seen, and the scooter had the green way before either the scooter or car entered the intersection: It bothers me. At my age I would be dead. It does not look like an "intersection." There is a four lane divided highway. The gap in the center divider is at most a single lane. The pavement is marked for lanes for crossing it -- looks more like a pedestrian crossing. I cannot figure the speed the scooter was doing, but was fast enough for the rider to fly over 10 feet into the air and the scooter bounced at least 20 feet backward.

I have been watching traffic and there is a LOT of more motorcycles on the road -- sensible bikes, smaller bikes, people riding for transportation instead playing racer on the streets. Of course has the accident rate is dropping. ATAATT -- All the Aloha, all the time: Check my shorty mirrors -- I can get 1.5" closer to cars when filtering.

Bicycles, mopeds, motor-driven cycles, etc., are all totally legal on freeways and Interstates unless there is signage prohibiting. Definition of "motor-driven cycle", which the signage prohibiting them on freeways and Interstates, depends on the State. Some States limit 5 bhp, some limit at 150cc. I know of no State with a 10 or 15 bhp limit.
US DOT regs are merely guidelines -- which is why you can ride without a motorcycle helmet in Florida.

I did a run with my smartphone's speedometer app and I hit 65 mph actual with a indicated 71-72. I can touch 75 indicated on the flat, but it takes time to reach it. I found out that WOT sucks gas royally (leaving me on the side Interstate miles away from anywhere, and even AAA takes hours at 3 AM) and on touring I hold a little less that wide open, generally doing an indicated 65, actual about 60... and 75+ mpg instead of 65-.

It's a 155cc, and is for people with more money than taste.
I have always looked at scooters, since they are so practical, but was always with a "but I can't see myself riding one." Age changed my opinion, step-through allows me to continue riding. And with the Vespa I came to find out that scooters are *FUN* -- hey!! why didn't anyone tell me?
But $10K for a 150cc class scooter? A Moto Guzzi V7 Stone is more than $1,500 less!

You can ride year round in LaLaLand -- Los Angeles, California. Mostly....
people in L.A. are laid back, not pushy. drivers are watching out for others, and yield to idiots. drivers watch for bikes and give them room. people expect slower vehicles on the freeway, and merely pass on the left.
We have a LOT more two-wheelers than we had ten years ago.

I think it is for real, but is just a display model... Translated from the Italian: "And 'possible to realize a camper on the basis of treruote Piaggio Ape 50? It would seem so! And the answer is called Bufalino, mini camper made by German designer Cornelius Comanns that revolutionized the Ape 50 both inside and out. Indeed, Comanns gave the vehicle a style even more sympathetic, while the interior has been designed to meet the needs and requirements of a single person. The Bufalino is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, a bed, two chairs, wash basin and computer station. The concept of the Bufalino retraces the same Ark Mascotte, mini camper born in the early 80s on the basis of the truck Fiat 900. However, both are united by the same defect, the absence of the bathroom ..." Note: "possible to realize" and "concept of the Bufalino" -- it is pictures of what COULD be made.

... Someone please let me know what you would do with this choice.... Ref: www.powersportsnetwork.com/enthusiasts/new_vehicle_compare.asp?vehicle1=3715&year2=2006&mfg2=442&vehicle2=27431&go=GoTwo totally motorcycles. Where and why will you be riding? If you want to go touring, the Silverwing can take a trailer hitch and you can comfortably go coast to coast, in style. If you want easy riding in city, you want my Vespa LX150. The Grandvista 250 is a hundred pounds more bulk than my Vespa, but will be far better doing 75+ mph the freeways than my barely touching 65, if you will be wanting more speed on the freeways.

Yul was also Taras Bulba, a Cossack. You can't get more macho than a Cossack -- we ride without armor:

You can wrap a strap around the saddle to pass the law. I agree that my passenger will have their arms around my waist.

If he did, it was because he abused the scoot and/or failed to keep up with maintenance. You can google and find others that have gone cross country on a 50. OCC bikes are butt jewery and not meant for actual riding any great distance.
