I just ordered this Honda Helix frame; legal with clear title. Helix frame on eBayI am going to bash it with my Znen and Reflex. This will be fun.

Yea, I am trying to get a title and hoping to get the bill of sale soon. I also noticed that the SC DMW website says they'll assign a VIN for home-builts. My other option is to buy a titled frame here in SC. It says I can't buy a "Salvage-Rebuildable" out of state unless I build it in that state first, title it there, then transfer it to SC.

I've been thinking long and hard about my Reflex project. The frame has a VIN but I don't have a title. The South Carolina DMV has categories for Salvage-Rebuilt and Homemade. The DMV will assign a VIN to a frame without one. Seems like there is a loophole here. Remove the VIN and customized the frame enough to be unrecognizable as a Honda. How to custom bike shops that make their own frames do it?
I'd like to get a Salvage-Rebuildable title, but I have no idea what insurance company has it.

I just read scdmvonline.com. I hope to find the insurance company who last titled the frame. If the title was branded "salvage-rebuildable" I may then rebuild the bike and title it in my name as "salvage-built." I also read that if I buy a frame out of the state, the bike must be rebuilt in that state, be branded as "salvage-rebuilt", then transferred to my state as "salvage-rebuilt."

I have the top one in blue. Personally, I think that is the ugliest scooter. My body panels are busted up, so I have two naked scooters.

I am not sure of the model. I bought it from a friend who pulled it out of a salvage yard. This is another vehicle title issue. I am hoping a titled frame would be easier to find than a Reflex frame. The engine to Znen has been pulled out to replace the center right half of the engine case. I broke it where the swingarm bracket bolts. Now would be a good time to do a BBK.

Do you still have the frame? If so, is it titled and how much?

Picked up another scooter project. This Znen is a much simpler project, because it already runs. If I can't title my Reflex, I may bash these two together by installed the Reflex engine into the Znen.

Wow, it should look pretty "sci-fi like" when you're finished. Do you suppose the streamlining will create unwanted crosswind instability?

Ali Express is headquartered in China. They have offices around the world, but I don't have much luck buying stuff direct from China. I am not sure how Ali Express works, but being a part of Alibaba it makes me wary.

There is an idea in my head where I cut and bend diamond plate steel/aluminum, then bolt these panels directly to the frame tubes. Or, if I had mega bucks - carbon fiber.

First off, I plan to get the engine running. I need to go through the carb and replace some hoses and wiring. I have this crazy idea of trying to install the Reflex engine into my Helix. What do you think of that?

I got some of the plastics but they are pretty much shot. I also ran a VIN check today and it came up with an insurance type of alert and an odometer discrepancy. I bought the bike from the son of the man who repo'd the scooter. GetNewTitle.com wants to charge me $1,195 to try and get a title.
