Still running into road blocks. I need to find a cool gas tank and small radiator to fit in the small open "tunnel" down by the rider's feet. Any ideas?

I gave up on the flywheel removal. So instead of replace the center/right case, I repaired the mounting ear with JB Weld. Here, the Helix frame with the Znen engine mounted. I found it interesting that many of the engine parts are marked "CF Moto". I used the Znen engine hanger with a shortened hanger bolt from my Honda Reflex. Next up I'll see if the Reflex fork fits the Helix frame.

Today I decided to reassemble the Znen engine leaving the flywheel alone. I epoxied the damaged part of the case. I just hope it holds. Now I an simply install this engine into the Helix frame without having to modify it.

Darn flywheel will not budge off the crankshaft. I tore up my puller tool in the process. what kind of puller did you use? I used a female flywheel puller for CN250 engines. You are supposed to thread the outside part on to the flywheel and thread the middle bolt so it can push on the crankshaft. As I took another look today, it appears that the flywheel may be threaded onto the crankshaft. That would explain why I couldn't pull it off.

I received the Helix frame today. I also removed the Reflex engine. I'll need to modify the frame a bit to make the horizontal Reflex engine fit. I envision a cylindrical gas tank down low in the frame with a solo seat above the engine. I'll clean up the frame hiding the wires as much as possible. If the seating position suits them, I'll probably use some drag bars on the Reflex triple-tree and fork. I don't like the trailing link style Helix fork.

I love it. Some good inspiration for my build - a naked helix/reflex/znen

Found this Helix frame with a clear (non-salvage title). This is cheaper than a title recovery company. Could be the start of a cool custom build. Helix Frame on eBay

Found another tidbit on the DMV website. If the vehicle is 25 years or older, and the title is not available, a title request can be made. I'll be on the lookout for old Honda Helix frames. SC Application for a special serial number

My scooters could eventually be titled legally. It is simply going to be a PITA because without using a title recovery company, I cannot get the name and address of the current title holders. I had the idea that they be easier to sell as complete running bikes, but it looks like I will probably part them out.

Strip the scooter down, dump the frame several miles from your home, and sell the individual parts. I could probably come out well that way, but I really wanted that frame to combine with the Reflex I have with title issues. That Reflex isn't even in the national database. I did get a separate report for it which is pretty much the same. Privacy law prevents release of vehicle owner information except to law enforcement, investigators, etc. In SC those who are doing studies can get lists of owners, otherwise I'd need permission from the title owner. I tried contacting title recovery companies, but nobody writes back.

It says "Salvage-Stolen" means: Any vehicle the reporting jurisdiction considers salvage because an insurance company has acquired ownership pursuant to a settlement based on the theft of the vehicle.
Now I just need to figure out how to clean the title. SC DMV says I need to have the titled signed over to me, but there is no way to find out which insurance company has it.

Hello all,
I ran a VIN check on my Znen project. The title report came back "Salvage-Stolen" in Georgia on 10/29/10 and apparently was title by an insurance company on 2/24/12. Now what do I do? I live in South Carolina. Can any of you, who are Georgians, give me some advice? The DMW won't release contact info of the title owner, because I do not have the proper credentials.
