Howdy from the capital, I'm a Cackalacky native and love to stretch out to every last corner of the state on my rides. Hope to see ya out there!

Awesome! Everybody wins. I like that you had offered up the used top end free though. There are definitely times in the automotive business where it is advantageous to "eat it" for a customer... unfortunately (for her) that scooter will probably not hold up in the long haul and now you're in a position where she will likely bring business back to you (hopefully with no resentment towards you lol).

Just a reminder you have to manually change the setting under your Profile to account for Daylight Saving Time, should your locale observe such a silly outdated practice ;D

prodigit breaking it down so I don't have to ;D I naturally had some rage against the cage when I first started scooting but then I realized that actually the majority of cagers I was around were being pretty considerate. It only takes one or two out of a hundred to piss you off, and that's not worth getting all fizzled up about. I just try to stay safe, or alive for that matter. Getting a 100cc BBK helped a lot, like a whole different world. It's not about who is right, it's about who is left!

Depends how "out of oil" it was. Hopefully there was still a little in there to keep the crank wet. Worst case it probably won't fail right away but those bearings probably took a beating.

My philosophy was I was making my scooter more reliable and sustainable by getting a 50mm BBK. On the stock motor I was running WOT 98% of the time, now it's maybe 60%. Much easier on the entire drivetrain. I want to do the 52mm kit next time though.

I have a truck and the wife had a van till she blew the engine yesterday. I ran the truck 10 times this winter to work (there was snow and ice on the road and I leave before the plows) and I use it on the weekends if I have things to pick up that are too big for the scoot. I go in a car to church every Saturday with all 4 kids and the wife. The rest of the time I am cageless.. Fair enough, I am hoping to limit my cage use to but a couple times a week this summer. The extra money I'll spend on a larger scooter will pay off saving the wear & tear on my car alone. And I miss that freedom, it IS all about the ride after all!

Ohhhh plus part of it is at SD, it was at the very top of the page, then the menu and ad banner, that makes a difference too I suppose.

It is huge, takes up the better part of the screen on my tiny Chromebook. Haven't used the new forum on my iPod yet but that'll be even worse.

On a side note, I'm curious how much us dawgs do use a cage, if at all? Right after I got my first bike I sold my car and did great w/o one for a long time. But eventually the convenience of moving large items or people especially regardless of the weather got the better of me...

I had a noise kinda similar but not really and I swore it was CVT, changed the belt and it went away for a while before returning even worse. Ended up being loose exhaust. Doesn't seem like that's your case but I guess the point is it could be anything...

I cage rage it more than I'd like to admit, at least during what little winter NC has (this year has been an exception, while certainly not that cold it's been long). So generally just joy rides now although for most of last year a bike or scooter was my only vehicle. Once I get a bigger scooter I will use it for commuting purposes every time I need to go somewhere alone when it's dry. If I had a 500cc again you wouldn't be able to keep me off of it, for any purpose

ahhhhh so the chase continues, very very happy to see it. It's probably been slow going over winter though but should pickup soon. I'll try to get my scoot up and de-winterized running this week.
