walt, around here a lot of afro americans---dont know another PC word to use,,, have them. i know of at least 20, in this small town. theres no way they could be 80cc tho. they dont go fast enough. But good for people w/o a license to get around with, rather than walking.
hope it works out 4 ya

HI & WELCOME
^^^^ do what they say^^^^^ plus if you want it to last a long time DONT BEAT IT no WOT all the time, change oil alot--oils the life blood of it and only cost < $10 / OT 'member 150's are a 50 maybe 55 mph scoot ONLY.
the drive belt--order one and save it till yours breaks no reason to fix it if it aint broke
the carb---well i really dont think you need to replace it just adjust it. running a lil sea-foam or sta-bil in every other fill up will keep it clean
again welcome & good luck

@ yello
yea except around here people post OUTRAGEOUS prices, even for not running ones. but i guess if they are asking for $1000 and you show up with 5 100's , they might go for it

You do valve adjustments every 4 months??? I haven't done my first one yet, and I'm at 3000+km's (~2k miles). I think doing them every 2k miles would be good... IM SORRY i mis spoke i check 'em every 4 months beginning of spring & again towards the end of summer. sometimes they are fine, sometimes they are a bit off.
and well last summer i put 2,000k miles on in 4 months and im at over 8,000 miles in 3 1/2 years so if you can add , yea thats about 2k every 4-5 months
and heck if a person wants to check every 1000, who cares?

WALT
i think you better start building a engine that can withstand -30 to -60 degree weather, maybe a head warmer on it,
and mount it on a trike or 2 ski snowmobile thingy dingy.
that engine is HOT but i dont think it withstand your move

in the 1st year , i did 'em every 1000 miles since then , ehhh every 2-3-4 months. but i change oil more than that, by a long shot..... i might change oil 2, sometimes, in the summer, with alot of heavy riding, i might change oil 3 times/ month.
even full synth. its what $9-10/ Qt. ?
oils the life blood, $20-$30 a month is a good trade off for me.
