My footer says it all - commuting is the best part of my day. I ride to and from work year round as long as it is not raining or snowing. Will break 10,000 wonderful miles this week. The only thing that would make it better is a landscape as lovely as yours!

Sorry to hear about your medical issues and wish you a speedy and full recovery. I actually never heard of a do-it-yourself trike conversion for a 150cc, but just did a google search and this is the first thing that came up: www.tcscooters.com/trikes.htm Its $1,000, a bit higher than your budget. I will do some more research and post if I see something good. I wonder, though, if it makes sense to buy a good trike, like an icebear, maybe used. Best wishes, Mike

My Vog 260 gets rattles and squeaks from time to time. I try and locate them and then, similar to msgusaf, I put in a thin line of self adhesive insulation. Usually does the trick and you can hide it in the seam.

I think this will not work as a substitution. Won't be bright enough. Ever thought of HIDs?
If you're just looking to save power draw there are lots of other lights you can replace with LEDs very easily.
I just bought 2 10w cree floodlights that I'm going to attach as augmenting light. I just did a test off the battery and they are really bright.

My Vog suspension also sucks on anything but smooth roads. My front shocks bottom out on everything, and I'm essentially riding on fully compressed springs on the rear as soon as I sit down. In fact, my highway use is limited not be speed but by knowing my roads - I don't consider it a safe ride on many of the "older" highways here.
I was thinking of picking up some better quality used adjustable motorcycle rear shocks on ebay.

This is a good augmentation but check the lumens before substituting one for the other. I was looking at these types of bulbs recently and what I found is that they put out around 300 lumens, whereas my 45w incandescents (which still aren't bright enough for me) put out about 840 each. There's a recent thread here about someone who put these in and I asked him the question of whether he was supplementing the lights or replacing them. i did not see a reply at the time.

I always start with small things first. Sounds like you could be lean and will need to adjust the air/fuel mixture. When you start up the enricher is on so you don't have a problem. When the engine warms up the mixture leans out, and it might give you the problem. Easy place to start checking.

Novaraptor beat me to it. I changed my stock short shield to a tall Givi and I heard all sorts of engine and other bike noises that had always been drowned out by the wind. When researching my windshield I recall reading a lot about people who made or even purchased commercially available windshield extenders. I'll check my old bookmarks and see if I saved anything and I'll post again if I did. Seems like a reasonably priced solution.
