the one thing i don't like about ultra black is small pieces will get in the oil and possibly clog the oil flow. it's funny because it's oil resistant property is also the reason i like it but this tube has gone bad or maybe i'm doing something wrong. after researching more i think i'm going to stop using ultra black and try permatex the right stuff.

hi all, this is a great idea. I can't find anything to click on to add myself though. Likely because I am logged in on a ms surface rt tab, not a pc and this site is buggy on it. So for info ......I am in boston, ma and I have a bunch of scooters. Just last week I added an Italjet formula air 50 2t which I have to get running and a Suzuki Burgman 400 which runs great but I can't use it till I get a tire so I can reg it. My current most used is my 1985 Honda Elite 250 which like the Burgy is liquid cooled. The Honda was the first maxi scooter to be sold in the USA. It is a Honda Rebel motorcycle under a scooter body. Sneaky fast leaving traffic behind in the city and passing cars on the highway all day. I go on group rides a lot. A couple weeks ago a 60 mile ride 2up on the honda. I am probably acquiring a honda metropolitan soon too. Its in pieces right now. I always bbk my 50's. I want to sell a bunch more and cut down to just 2. A solid 50 and the Burgy. I just sold a gy6 clone with a bbk and an Aprilia Scarabeo 50. My Piaggio Fly 50 is solid but I am hoping to like the Italjet better. I hope to find some locals on this mapping thing. i don't recall how i added myself to the map. i need to edit my location but will be moving again in a few weeks so may as well wait.

i don't think it would drop the temp much, not enough to risk shorting anything out anyway. besides engines run better warm. after listening to your engine purr in that video, i wouldn't, not with your scoot.

i've never had so much problem with oil leaking. i been using permatex oil resistant gasket maker with no problem until recently so either i'm doing something wrong or this tube is too old. what do you use (brand) and what procedure do you follow?

I'd say less than 1/8" on the dip stick, if any slim margin between needing oil and over filling if you see oil on the dip stick. if i check mine and see 1/8" on the dip stick then i add about 100ml. these scoots only take about 750ml total. i'm not agreeing with your mechanic... just pointing out the obviuos incase you're not aware.

$65 in parts out for delivery today. money i can't afford to spend. scoot is already tore down to the piston, just waiting on the mailman. was in the garage when he pulled up... woo hoo!... and 10 seconds later was disappointed he doesn't have anything for me. ran upstairs and saw "delivered" nearly 2 hours ago at front door. doesn't make sense since he just left but whatever, checked anyway. so apparently my package was on a different truck and delivered to a different address. tried calling but didn't get an answer. so what now? i'm out $65 and scoot is still in pieces... damn i need a drink! if i could temporarily change the title of this thread to "what would you have done to your scooter today if your mailman wasn't dyslexic." just spent an hour of my time at the post office trying to track down my scooter parts. i will pay extra for signature or i won't order from now on. an extra $2. could have saved me this headache.

as JerryScript said, you want "blue" thread locker. you can get it at any auto parts or hardware store. walmart also carries it in the auto section.

If one of these heads will fit , i would buy one and buy the more popular 4 bolt cover . I'm not sure if he would have to change anything else ? Like the cam , etc. He also might have to go with ,63mm head if its a B case. i would assume the A means a case engine.

yeah, i believe you are right. i posted before i saw you correct the engine code I'm pretty sure he would be fine with the head I posted . do u know if he had a 2 or 4 bolt valve cover ? 2 The valve cover on this unit is held on with two bolts that go through the cover into the top of the head. They have a flange on them that allows you to only tighten the valve cover so tight.

i'm not finding any parts listed under that code. www.scrappydogscooters.com/gy6-200_GY6-B_case.htmlhalf way down the page scrappy lists a 200cc head but appears the emissions is plugged. i would call them or measure bolt hole distance and start searching. I think he meant 161 Qmk A . I think the "A" is for the case but not sure . if its not the "B" case then any 61mm head should work . yeah, i believe you are right. i posted before i saw you correct the engine code

Engine code is 1610MK-A. Yeah, I know, it is a odd one. Scooter was sold as a 200cc and displacement is 168.9cc. You mean 161QMK A that code has a few results. nice catch
