did a little research and discovered my petcock is bad. ordered new part and going to crimp the line in the meantime after i change the oil again. question: would the carb float shut off the valve to stop the petcock from feeding too much fuel? i'm wondering if their is a problem with carb too. or can the petcock be the only problem?

it's a bit long if you want to watch the whole vid but if you watch from the 5min mark you'll see the part that i believe needs adjusting. assuming the diaphragm isn't ripped then adjusting the needle up or down will/should cure your mid-throttle range.

very nice! what year? i've seen a few pics of the Scarabeo with the headlight on the handlebars and the thin rear fender. not a fan of that design but yours is slick.

well the main reason i was asking about stuff like the EFI is because the weather changes so fast around here. like one day it will be in the 60s the next the 40s. when its warmer out the scoot runs great but colder days it runs like crap. and the mad dog doesn't have an adjustable carburetor. carburetors are very simple but yes, they are a bit temperamental. you can buy an aftermarket carb if you want to go the cheaper route. going off what others have said i am sure you will be very happy with the EFI kit. i just can't get past the price and if it ever failed i wouldn't know how to fix although they probably rarely have problems. idk, have to get response from someone that has it.

Don't you want to pdi and get to know your scoot before taking off for a rider course? i'm not going to have money to put plates on it until end of the month so i'll have plenty of time for pdi. plus i assume i'll be waiting on MCO. i only see one mon-tues class on the schedule (next week) and if my work schedule stays the same then those days will work out best for me. i'm using their bikes.

my scooter is on the way with roadrunner transportation. estimated delivery is next monday the 17th. i'd like to hear everyones experience dealing with delivery. can i arrange for them to come in the afternoon, evening or morning? i'm asking because i have an opportunity to take the rider course next mon-tue but really want to be here when my scooter is delivered.
i understand all shipping company's are not the same but i'd like to read your story anyway.

i don't have any experience with the EFI kits but it seems everything i have read people are very pleased with the better performance and fuel mileage. personally i can't justify the cost. i'd rather spend my time learning about carburetors than installing an EFI kit but that is just my opinion. i don't know much about the mad dog. it's a Chinese replica of the honda ruckus, correct? i would upgrade fuel lines, fuel filter, belt and carry a replacement cdi. also change the oil and gear oil if you have't already. this link may help you: x1scooters.com/pdi.htmlyou'll probably be tempted to install a bbk before too long since that model is on the slow side. just be warned that a bbk can make your scoot less reliable. the main problems with a bbk i have heard are crankshaft failure and engine seize due to improper jetting. if you do decide to install a bbk then do a compression test. supposedly if you can keep compression under 190psi then it will have less stress on your crankshaft. but do your own homework, i'm still learning. hope you find this info. useful.

I'll add another thing that I dislike. Having threads on what do I need to do to this or that and never a mention of what kind, cc, engine, etc. Now how many threads do I move because folks can't put the right question in the right place even when the category says a certain size and type? JR atm50 with a 50mm bbk (stock exhaust and airbox) if this post was a shot at me. and my scoot still has a slight bog on acceleration. it doesn't happen very often though. i haven't pulled the plug since i went from 82 to 78 jet. i have a 75 jet, might change the jets again but it happens so infrequently that i wonder if 75 will be too lean. guess i'll do a plug chop when i have time.

it's experience's like this that make me ask myself why didn't you check for parts here first. i didn't like the performance pipe i bought months ago so i ordered a new stock 50cc exhaust from scooter-parts1 last week and received a stock 150cc exhaust. i messaged him and still waiting for a reply. he has great feedback but looking at his very few negatives this isn't the first time he has shipped the wrong item. unfortunately his ad states buyer pays return shipping. really unfair to charge me for his mistake so we shall see how this plays out. i will update this thread when he responds.
