did a little research and discovered my petcock is bad. ordered new part and going to crimp the line in the meantime after i change the oil again. question: would the carb float shut off the valve to stop the petcock from feeding too much fuel? i'm wondering if their is a problem with carb too. or can the petcock be the only problem?

i'll have time to work on it tomorrow if i need to pull the carb. i don't know what problem could occur with gas on the crankshaft and i really don't want to find out. i'll be selling this scoot soon enough anyway but would like to know i'm selling a problem free scoot. probably change the oil again when the new petcock arrives.

Several things can get gas in the oil, cranking and not starting but sucking in gas, Vacuum hose going to petcock sucking in gas through the vaccum hose(BAD PETCOCK), Float in carb not shutting off the fuel when full(bad rubber tip on the shutoff valve, float binding and not moving up or maladjusted or float leaks and fills up with gas.
