i had a similar problem with my taotao 50cc scoot. i cleaned the carb and it solved my problem. since yours is new i don't know if a dirty carb is your problem. i'd start with tuning your carb first and if that fails then clean the carb. other members with more knowledge than me may have some more advice for you.

im in fl and work on scoots but still pretty far from you up here in jensen beach(stuart) about 80 miles i believe. if i thought it would make it that far i wouldn't need to work on it, lol. anyhow, i finally got off my lazy bum and got it done today. starts easy and runs gr8 now. i don't enjoy working on these scoots but i sure do enjoy the results.

Well after 4 yrs. of owning this scooter. I finally blew a fuse. So, the fix was simple, and a loose tach wire was the culprit. great! i read your thread earlier but had no idea how to help. electrical issues are usually time consuming to solve.

ARGH!!!! Hooked up a 220CCA battery and still no go. Tore it down and put the extra base gasket in and turned it over by hand a few times since it's late and dont want to wake the neighbors. Compression still feels really high. I'll hook the battery back up in the morning and see how it goes but it really doesn't feel much different. iicr millsc also had to upgrade the wire to get his to work.

Wish I could help. When I rode bikes, in Denver, we started a Spring Mod Day, where we all got together and did oil changes, and basic spring maint. Too bad the scooter world isn't big enuf to do the same. Burgers, beers, and a good time. (A friend would do it for free) that would be fun. i don't think i would mind the work so much if it was a social event.

mine came with a 108. from what i have read that seems like the norm for stock 150cc. i had to up jet though as it was running very lean.

anyone near coconut creek florida interested in making a few bucks? just some basic maintenance, need to check for corrosion on battery and clean, need valve adjustment and carb tuned. i know how to do these things, i'm just lazy. probably 1-2 hours work. i can't/won't spend $80/hr or whatever the scooter shop charges. if you're in the area and your price is reasonable i'll bring it to you.

i'd use at least 15w40. i doubt you'd cause much damage using a thinner oil but in those temps i'd use a heavier weight than 30.

116 views and only 16 member pins. What are you guys afraid of ??. No personal info is collected when you join the map. that number tracks every time someone opens the thread and i have opened this thread at least 10x. plus might have guest views, idk just saying give it sometime and i would bet most of the active members will join in.
