It is probably the killswitch wire, it’s grounded in the key switch or the killswitch most likely easy way to find out is unplug the white and black wire from the cdi box with a small screwdriver. If it starts you can plug it back in to kill it or put a switch on the wire. If that doesn’t fix it try running new ground wires to the cdi box and the coil. If neither of those have an effect try changing the coil wire and then the cdi box. this is just a list of ways to fix it cheapest things first. it’s how I would go about it. If it doesn’t fix the problem please lmk if you do figure it out please comment anyway so people may know how to fix their issue.

Hello, I don’t know if you have figured this out yet, but I would almost bet either your cdi box or coil isn’t grounded well. I would run a ground to both, if that doesn’t work use a small screwdriver and take out the black and white wire from the cdi box. If it starts then you can shut it off with the key or, if you are like me and haven’t bought one with a key yet. All you have to do is refasten the black and white wire into the cdi plug. Then cut the black and white wire and run each end to a switch, flip it and the scooter shuts off. (Also harder to steal). Hope it helps.

I would also replace the cdi box. If that doesn’t do it try using a different coil wire, you can use one from a car and just twist the ends in. Your scooter shouldn’t take 15 min to start.

If you haven’t already I would just replace the carb. They cost less than $20 and can be there in just a few days in most cases
