What speeds was it getting before the BBK, normally a stock 50 are good for 30-35mph most stock 50s will not get to 35 maybe 32mph and I am talking real mph not what the speedo says because they are off up to 20 percent. Also what are your RPMS that will help determine what you may need to get more speed. But just so you know putting in a BBK will usually not give you much on the top end, what it will do is give you low end torque and power . But now that your motor has more power you can do things to get more top end speed. You may want to get a little bigger Variator so that the belt can climb higher and or put in taller gears. Also Mark your Variator like this and run it at WOT and see how high the belt is climbing. Alleyoop

You can get them in either flavor. You just have to know what your scooter takes a AC or DC cdi.

Bigger carb, up from 24mm promoted me to reduce the jet to a 115. Dumb hillbilly fishing. There are slight pops on deceleration but the whole bike is disassembled (all the plastics are off ) so I have no tach access right now. A reverse trike has LOTS of plastic body panels. Time to change the jet to allow the air fuel mixture screw to work correctly. As I closed it, the revs increased all the way till full screw in. My next move is to reinstalled the 120 main and change the pilot jet. By the way, I bought one of the gold CDI boxes we have all been reading about, and mine died in two days. No spark. I put the blue one in and got spark. Bigger carb from 24 promoted me to reduce the jet, I COULD see you doing that IF the motor was STOCK. A STOCK 150 may take up to a 115 without no mods but usually a 115 calls for a free flow filter and a free flow muffler. If all stock it may take a 110 without loosing power. But you have a BBK so it should take at LEAST a 115 Main or better. 1. REVS INCREASED ALL THE WAY TILL FULL SCREWED IN: That is good but you need a bigger PILOT JET. And yes try the 120 see if it is not to much fuel. Now the Slight Pops on Decel is a LEAN condition caused by the quick cut off of fuel and air. A. A to low of an IDLE will cause that B. Needs a little more fuel on the Air Fuel Mixture(which is not the case due to #1). Alleyoop

Yep, that could be the whole problem with that scoot. Alleyoop

Looks like the belt had shreded before and it was not cleaned out. You need to take the Variator off and make sure there are no pieces of belt causing some binding.

Look at the piece behind the belt that I am pointing to . Looks like a piece of belt that has was broken off and is stuck back there It could be holding the Variator from turning. Alleyoop

Let me ask this Devin, in this video are you HOLDING THE START BUTTON DOWN and it is turning over like that, spinning and stopping, spinning and stopping? If so then NO the kick start will not help. Even on hard starting motors when you hit the start button and hold it for say 10-15 seconds the motor should spin and NOT STOP and START LIKE YOURS. LOOK AT THIS BENDIX and the GEAR that the Starter engages. And look at YOUR BENDIX on your scoot to me it looks like teeth are missing on yours WHICH would explain the SPINNING AND STOPPING and SPINNING and STOPPING. YOUR BENDIX:

Alley glad you're here. I actually have a 60 mm BB and a 61mm head. So my son says because he bought it for me and his Chuckus which he and his young friends play with. I put the 16/37 gears in like you. I have an A9 cam. Here's my big important question for the moment. I have a 28 mm carb that came with a 120 main. I put in a 115. After setting my throttle speed, I can screw the air fuel mixture all the way closed with the RPM's increasing till it stops turning. That tells me I need to change the main jet right? Do I go up or down in size? Screwing in the Air Fuel Mixture has NOTHING to do with th Main Jet. The Main Jet Takes effect around 40+ mph as the needle is being lifted out of the Main jet. So here is what you need to explain maybe I am not understanding, BUT IF you screw in the Fuel Mixture Screw all the way closed and it DOES NOT KILL your motor THEN what that tells you is the PILOT JET is to big and you need a smaller Pilot jet. Now on the other hand if you turn the Fuel mixture screw Counter Clockwise and to get a good idle and starts it is out 3 1/2 or more turns out from the closed position then you need a BIGGER PILOT JET. Now with the 115 MAIN JET at WOT or anywhere in the throttle range getting to your top speed does the motor make any sounds, like POPS, BRAT or BOG or any Backfiring? Or does it rev up nice and comes down to idle nice and quick not hanging and slow to drop the rpms. QUESTION: I forgot to ask, why did you take out the 120 main jet and put in the 115? If you did not run it with the 120 I suggest you try it and see if it's not to much fuel. You do not want to be running on the lean side little rich is always better. Also what are the RPMS at 53mph?

Remember a BBK will give you more torque and low end power but not much top end speed. But now with more power you can do more things to get more speed. If you motor now has more power you can put in taller tranny gears which are cheap for the gains it gives, but only if the motor can pull them.
Also what are you trying to achieve? A lot more top end and how much of a top end or just a strong runner up to speed. Those are some things that have to be known to help with what will be needed to reach those goals or at least close to what your looking for. Alleyoop

I installed a 58.5 BBK and a new cam. Performance exhaust and air filter and all aluminum 30 mm intake. Please keep the ideas coming The new displacement with the 58.5 bbk is 155.36cc from the standard displacement of 149.57cc so don't expect very much from 5ccs more. Also now that is does 53mph what are the rpms at WOT? Knowing the rpms may help in determining what you need for more speed.

Yep, the way it spools up and down like there wasn't any kind of a load to contend with, spins the cvt and rear wheel like they weren't even there, that puppy has some power. Im gonna try like heck too get mine to sound like that,,not too sure it ever will,,he has all that taida stroker stuff on it,,plus its a few mm bigger,,but I will try!! If you want to play you gotta pay$$. Good luck Jersey, and your right if you want to play you have to pay..LOL just like in Vegas Money Talks Everything Else Walks.
