Ok, And I saw you cover the Air intake and saw fuel so that is good. And good that all the teeth are there must of been the lighting when you took the picture.
Ok so now Lets check the SPARK and see if the spark plug is firing. If you have a spare spark plug take BOOT CAP off the spark plug on the motor and stick the spar in the Boot cap then Just Hold the METAL part of the SPARK PLUG on the VALVE COVER and just crank it over some and see if it is sparking. If it does then we also need to check the one in the motor that spark plug may be bad or the gap is way off or closed. In both cases It should spark a nice blue spark. Alleyoop

Been trying to tell these guys that for these lawn mover engines high octane is not needed. High octane is for the high compression engines that need a slower burning fuel so it does not detonate. For none high compression motors you get more power from the lower octane gas. But like the article says they who do not listen just smile and move on..LOL Alleyoop

Not supposed to be a hole there, drain the oil and clean the hole out real good and then try JB weld.

Yes the crank broke through the casing on that one. New motor time unfortunately, but they are cheap enough it will cost you more if you try to rebuild that motor. If you every have taken one apart you will notice there is not much clearance between the crank and the case. So when either of the bearings fail and creates some slop in the crank it will hit the case from the inside and bust it open. Alleyoop

Nice going, and yes like bandito, many mount a car tire on the rear with no problems, they also last a lot longer Alleyoop

All good suggestions and opinions also always check the play in the crank. If the crank already has to much play it will not take the extra torque. If so then require a new crank or turn the job down.

Could be the Drain is leaking, leaking around the bowl or if it is a pumper could be leaking by the diaphgram cover. Like Rc said if it was flooding you would see fuel in the Air Filter side and most likely some would drain into the intake and would run like crap.

Have to disagree with your simplified tuning. It is a step by step and what the results should be and if not what to do to correct the situation. You should read it and take some pointers your never to old to learn you know. Like I said , mine is for tuning , yours covers more in depth if someone needs to learn the ins and outs , and problems that you may have. U can use mine if you have a carb that is 100% sound no problems such as leaks etc. Since I'm 100% carb inclined I have no need for to take a class on carb tunning. Thanks anyway You ought to give it a rest bud, your jealously is really showing. Alleyoop

Alley has a very good tutorial on how to tune your carb. What you describe is a classic tuning symptom, so before you pull a new carb apart I'd suggest you get your idle mixture set properly and your main jet sized properly. And --- CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW BBK BEAST! Here is the Step by Step tutorial on how to tune your carb that RCQ92130 is talking about. Even Shop owners have copied it to be used in their shop when working on scoots. Alleyoop itistheride.boards.net/thread/12/4ts-carb-tuning

Look at the picture I labeled what we think you are saying was smoking. If so that is the ENRICHER, what it does is when the motor is cold it feeds extra fuel to the motor to help it start because motors need a little more fuel for starting when cold. If it still smokes after that or you find that since the initial smoking happened the motor is not running as good as it was before or it is harder to start it may be that it ENRICHER is bad. But you do NOT need a new Carburetor you can just replace the ENRICHER it is held on to the carb with two screws and it plugs into the harness. To see if it is working it is very easy to test it out: Unscrew the two screws holding it and lay it on its side someplace where you can see it. Then Cover the hole with your thumb and start the motor and hold your thumb over the hole for at least 3-4 minutes. As your holding the thumb over the hole watch the ENRICHER and see if the Cylinder EXTENDS out about 1/4 of an inch in about 3-4 minutes if it does it is GOOD. Look at the two pictures: A. WHEN YOU first take it off cold it should look like PIC #1(the cylinder is RETRACTED). In that position it allows extra fuel for cold starts. B. After 3-4 minutes with the motor running it should look like PIC #2(the cylinder is EXTENDED). In that position it has shut off the extra fuel and will stay that way until you shut the motor off and it cools down then it will again RETRACT and be ready for the next COLD start. Alleyoop PIC# 1: HOW THE CYLINDER SHOULD LOOK LIKE (RETRACTED) before motor is started COLD. PIC# 2: HOW THE CYLINDER SHOULD LOOK LIKE (EXTENDED) after 3-4 minutes IDLING.
