50cc 2010 jonway is what Im rolling with - To start off My carb came brand new with brand new scooter. after a few weeks the spark plug was black, I replaced it. A week later replaced it again, its a NGK. after just cleaning and replacing every week for two months I popped off the brass cover off the A/F screw and tightened it up. I have always had problems using the electric start except when I have a brand new plug. I started tweaking the screw to where my plug looks great after a week. The kick start has always worked!! last week I stooped for gas after a hot 30 min. ride and scooter wouldn't start so I went to kick start and I think I summoned the Hulk with in because I broke the case around the kick start so I had to walk home with it. I couldn't start it because the gears in side were all loose n stuff. So I live in Las Vegas and it has be kinda hot out here around 120 degrees as the high so I dont know if that caused my problem. I replaced the case and installed the kick start. It is nice and tight and started right up. This is my problem when I give it gas it wants to die. the idle is high at the start. my spark plug is nice and clean and freed of debris. I cleaned the carb out the other day but never did get the enricher/choke off to clean that. fuel is flowing from petcock also. I have to hold the electric start for about 30 sec or more to get that to work and after all that being clean and checked I cant get the thing over 25mph.
any ideas anyone

it is the outside case in a circle around the kick start. I removed the kick start and I can see right into the case.

I went to kick start Scooter and I must have summoned the power of the Hulk and broke the crankcase around my kick start I put it back together and I got it to start but I think I am having a different all together just wondering if a hole in the crankcase will stop it from running.

So valves were adjusted but still a little crummy. I took the carb out and with air compressor I blew out all the little jets and it ran like new. The new problem that came up was the spark plug had taken some abuse due to bad carb and running rich. I cleaned the spark plug with wire brush and it fired right up and I no longer had any power problems. As of right now I need to adjust air/fuel mix because its stalls at stops and the spark plug has been getting to black to work ever 200 miles or so. Almost have everything set and cleaned for a happy ride, BTW I just put 1600 miles on the scoot scoot

The damn thing stalled at a red light and wouldn't start. I had to push it on the crosswalk to get it out of traffic. It started again after 10 min. and didn't give me any more problems. I cant believe that I am having so many problems. My buddy has had his a year longer and no problems.

He said my valves may have heated up because I either had to much oil or he thinks I had to much oil over the crank. so they tightened up so much that they closed and the scooter wouldent start

My spark plug was replaced at 800 miles when it cut out when riding. I couldn't go more the 10-15 mph without it bogging out. Then at 900 miles I needed to do it again because of the same problem. Then at 1200 miles it wouldn't start with electric or even the kick start. I took it to the guy I bought it off of and he tells me that my valves tightened up. " A valve job" as he called it. I can only assume its the valves for the exhaust and intake. The valves I have seen people adjust to .004 for both. Don't really know what they are called. The first time the spark plug was replaced was buy the same guy and the second time I did it. When I was down there I noticed some vacuum lines were really loose, loose to the point of almost falling off. I am wondering if the valves could have gotten F-up from this. I don't know if he had to replace anything or if he just cleaned them. I will know when I pick it up on Monday.

SO i got this 50cc jonway, I have put about 800 miles on it just going to work and back. I decided to try some of the de-restricting things I have found on the internet. So when I opened her up there was no variator washer to take off. I am going to try and get the gasket off the exaust but I am not going to cut the it in half to get the other one. So with the washer being off the entire time I have had it whay is it still only doing 30-35mph.

OK so I have been scootin to work and back on my new 50cc jonway for the last 650 miles. Love it. I have been reading a lot about what people can do to make it go faster. I really don't want to go that far to make it faster, all I really want to do is take the restricting washer off. Have any of you done this or know anyone who has. Has there been any problems with their scooter in the long run.
