Check the easy stuff first check your belt, rollers for flat spots, clean the carb, filter, fuel filter and adjust the valves and change the oil, maybe a new spark plug. I call it a tune up.

I've tried many filters I like the two stage uni filter the best seems to flow best and I ride in all weather with it. As long as its oiled properly it works fine I ride in rain and snow no issue.

Jet it rich too much heat in that thin cylinder will cause it to crack im up to a 122 jet now popping stopped runs like a champ. I'm running a 122 main 40 pilot gained 9 mph on top and more torque over the 60mm kit. I may do a 30mm carb in the spring 67 GPS I'm happy not broke in yet.

The larger pilot jet does help in cold starts I also switched to a 40 since its cold

Ok i got my kit all done, it runs much better with the ncy 61mm and a14 camshaft no smoking but i get pops on deceleration now, i even upjetted to a 120 and still pops but runs strong and fast haven't speed tested gonna break it in a bit.

i'll report my results once its all done tomorrow already updated my signature, i'm not going to be that easy on my break-in i'll push it a little from the start i do semi hard break in. Full throttle breifly back off repeat etc.

yeah i did the ncy 61mm kit waiting for my cam to come in tomorrow and ill finish it off. The rings were super stiff i had to use 5w 30 oil to get it over the jug, its thinner. The oil rings kept folding in had to take the piston off twice and rearrange the oil rings. Cut my hands in the process super stiff rings which is good i'm sure it will be a good improvement seems quality.
