It's true that you can get some bad parts but that also holds true for the dealerships also. I'm just going to stick with scrappy and other proven dealers from the board from now on. I was just in a hurry to get one more scooter up for my company that's in town. From now own they will just have to ride what I have running at the time. Next time they can wait for parts to come in, pay the difference or rent a scooter for $40 a day. Oh well it's over and done with I guess. I'll just know better next time.

Man I think I just got kicked in muffle bearings. Went by because I needed a CDI and Coil and and couldn't wait the 4-5 days because I have company in town and they are ready to ride. They charged me $24. a piece. it was like $53 and some change after taxes. I think I will wait for parts to be shipped from now own. Also, this is just for the parts and no labor. Anyone else get slapped around by local dealers like this?

Then we agree that getting it started is important. If it runs that will be a great deal. I just sold a 50cc for that price to a kid from Ireland that's just working at the beach for the summer.

I have looked at a ton of scooters that said they needed a battery and about half didn't have a kick starter on them. So, taking a jump box, cables, or battery would be relevant.

I would also take a jump box to start it. If you can get it started and it has other issue you can adjust the price you're willing to pay.

I had a scooter that I could set the timing up perfect and it would just time. It ended up being the woodruff key. Set everything back to TDC and run the engine giving it a few turns of the throttle. Check everything for TDC again and if its off then you have a bad woodruff key. Here is a thread about my scooter being out of time. itistheride.boards.net/index.cgi?action=display&board=50ac&thread=1465&page=1

I neighbor was riding past my house and stopped and told me they had a junk scooter that I could have for free. Of course I would jumped all over it and walked the 5 blocks to their house and pushed it back. She told me she had a key and title but lost them. She is in the middle of moving and told me she would bring them to me if she found them. It's pretty beat up as far as the body but it still has a lot of stuff I can use beside that. I was wondering if their was anything special about a 1p39qmb motor. Is it any different then a 139qmp? Attachments:
