I measure at the end of the stopper, between the stopper and the reed blade, where the gap is widest.

They are almost always set at 6-8mm. I always set mine at 8mm on 50-70cc engines.

It can but you have to know how to do it, but I am not talking about that, take the flywheel off and tell me what you see and find. You must of never have taken one off. Alleyoop Stop confusing the man. The problem is most likely a blocked exhaust pipe.

Yes but it still has to be timed. It has a Flywheel and Stator and has to be on the CRANK in the right position to fire the plug at the right time. Alleyoop HOW TO ADJUST THE TIMING ON A 2T BANGER: Rotating the stator plate relative to the crankcases changes the timing. Most have three marks, near the plate's mounting holes. The center mark is the standard timing. If you loosen the plate mounting bolts and rotate the stator plate clockwise to the flywheel's rotation, that will advance the ignition timing. If you rotate the stator plate counterclockwise to the flywheel's rotation, that will retard the ignition timing. Never rotate the stator plate more than .028in or .7mm past the original standard timing mark. These 2 strokes have a pickup on the outside of the flywheel. It can't bee moved.

If you reuse the cylinder and rings, there is no breakin period. If that's what you meant.

Also check the timing on it. Alleyoop It's a two stroke.

Try on another exhaust pipe. It's probably blocked in some way.

Actually that CDI will work on a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke. The spark plug is fired on the compression stroke and on the exhaust stroke. wiscompton and indymoped why ya shooting down my stuff when wiscompton...you said you knew nothing about the CDI. Both of you say it can be used on a 4 stroke. My question is...jog/minarelli is a 5 pin connector....QMB139 and QMJ157 GY6 engines are 6 pin. So how could you wire a 5 pin CDI to a 6 pin connector. On the 6pin CDI 2 of the pins are ground. On a 5pin only one of the pins are ground. So if you switch to a 5pin all you have to do is connect those 2 groundwires to the one groundwire on the 5pin CDI. You will also need a wiring diagram (of both scooters) to figure out where the other wires go. It takes a little effort, but it will work.

Ok, thanks. So somewhere between 0 and 1000 miles will work just fine.

I noticed there are two bolts under the engine on mine, I know the one comes out w the screen (filter) but does the other?? I'm not going to mess with it unless someone posts and lets me know. You don't need to clean the filter every time. Mayby every third or fourth time you change the oil.

Also, Im pretty sure you just "poke" the cap back in when checking the level, not screwing back in. If someone could chime in and confirm that for me that would be great. Confirmed.
