Bought a new 2011 Jonway in April this year (New Old) Being I have to split the block due to a massive air leak, what BBK would y'all recommend? I've heard 72cc is pretty good. Don't want nothing but cast iron though. That aluminum junk burns up like cardboard to me. You can scratch it with your fingernail, I've done it. So have have you?? Thanks For Any Help. Burn

Well ladies and gents my good running 63cc finally gave out on me. Cruising along back to the house and it just quit running as I pulled out in front of a semi because it's always been a quick scoot from the beginning. It stalled and my butt didn't!! I pushed that darn thing across the highway like it was a tooth pick! OK! Let me get a little more serious. Only way it starts is WOT and then you have to hold the throttle WOT so it will run,man does it shoot more gas and oil than the filling station!White smoke, blue, ect. pure fuel. Yes my carb. is fine. This scoot has been my pride and joy since 2011 new. OK Any ideas to help me save my good ole scoot??

OH yea it matters, 1E40QMB is a 2 stroke and a GY6 is a 4 stroke. Beamers are usually 2 stroke though.

Thanks for the help friends! All I need now is some hands on help and some cash so I can buy these extra tools I'll be needing. I'll probably have it done next spring. Wish me luck!

53 outside this morning here in Indiana. Went out to start the ole girl up and she fired right up and the enricher worked this time. Yesterday checked my new plug an to my surprise it was a nice golden brown but still runs like heck and is using a ton of fuel. So a vacuum leak can cause all of this crazy stuff that's going on?? Getting about 38 miles to a tank of gas also. It had a 71 main jet in it and I put a Scrappy 75 main in, seems rich now. No way of knowing what size my jet is because Scrappy didn't mark it,not even on the bag it came in. What to do?

I watched a couple videos on splitting the crankcase. Man I sure ain't no rocket scientist and not much of a 2T mechanic, I'm not bad when it comes to a 4T, of course i've worked on 4T's for quite sometime. To me 2stroke is very hard to work on, in all the years of wrenching on scoots I've never had to split the engine,I think I might be up the creek without a paddle. It would be easier for me to buy a new engine. Man this is a brand new scoot. I just bought it April 5th this year. That's one heck of a vacuum leak that wasn't there when it was new in April, To me it acts like a bad CDI. I'll take that back! JB WELD TO THE RESCUE!!!LOL!!!

I've got a new gasket kit but there isn't any gasket for the center of the engine. Where can I get one? Or can I just use gasket sealer? I got this gasket kit from Scrappys. Also is there a website that I can go to on how to split a Minarelli Jog Type Engine 50cc??

[replyingto=scootnwinn]scootnwinn[/replyingto]When I resealed the intake and intake gaskets I did notice some gasket material missing,I figured that Permatex would seal it off,but I was wrong.I'll sure need help rebuilding that engine.

[replyingto=scootnwinn]scootnwinn[/replyingto]Yes the cases have been split. Yes a little leak on the weld where the connection to the exaust manifold bolts too. Now we may be getting somewhere?

Here the story: When I start it up of a morning it will start without giving it any throttle,of course the enricher kicks on sometimes. After it starts to warm up the enricher kicks off an then sometimes it dies so I have to give it some throttle. When the engine warms up a little it's rich, but the hotter the engine gets the leaner the exaust is. So cold engine (rich) Hot engine very lean. A buddie of mine said it's got some kind of junk the EPA put on it,so no matter what jet you use it will still run lean. That's the way it really does run. It makes no sense to me at all. My air box also floods with fresh oil also. Yes I wished some of you guys were my neighbor so I could prove my point.Right now it wont run at all, no fuel coming out of carb. the plug is bone dry. I'm waiting on my new carb. to see if that fixes my problem, unless I have a hole in the piston.

Had the bottom of the intake buffed and polished because there was a lot of paint blistered there, used a little permatex red just waiting on the new carb. Yes you may be very right about the vacuum leaks but I can't find any at all. I'm really lost
