On second thought that looks more like my charcoal canister, mine had the fittings on the bottom like that. I just took mine off and capped the vacuum line. My tanks vent valve is on top so I have no venting problems

Mine has one like that which is part if the pair system. But off the canister is a hose to open air which is a fresh air intake which gets drawn by vacuum into the exhaust valve or something. Im just gona get a block off plate, plug off the vacuum line and get rid of the canister. whats Iit attached to? Could it be your pair canister? duno why that hose would have a plug in it though

I finally just went and got a manual petcock instead of the vacuum one it saves me a lot of worry. Now I only have the vacuum line to the carb decelerator and one to the pair system which ill get rid of as soon as I get a block off plate. Its gona be nice clean and simple in my engine bay less stuff to go wrong

Scrappy dogs has an oil cooler for less than 100 bucks that has the fittings that replace the oil screen bolt. Oil coolers alone (like the monster one I believe)are cheap but most youll have to rig up some sort of fittings or buy the modified case. Theres a 200 buck kit too but thats reaaally pricey I thinks. I dunk about the quality of the cheaper one but I like the price. Seems like unless you live where its really hot, get a gigantic cylinder kit, or ride constantly wot you probably wont need one though and the money could be spent on speed upgrades

Yeah, for something as essential as engine parts id want something from taiwan. Doesnt gy6racing on ebay have some taiwanese kits? I saw they have a no bore 60mm kit. I like the idea because the skirt wouldnt be as thin as the 61mm drop ins. I think ive heard good things about those kits even if theyre not ncy or taida...can anyone verify this? Whenever my engine reaches old age ill be wanting a 60 or 61mm kit.

Oh btw, anyone know off the top of their head the torque spec for the variator nut?

Well I have an air impact wrench, but I dont wana use it to retighten a variator nut because I dont want to over-torque it. Well I had a bright idea, use a leather belt as a strap wrench to hold the variator, and use a torque wrench to tighten it perfectly to spec no guess work. I assume this will work to get it off as well, probably easiest with a friend and a long breaker bar. Im gona test it once I get my new variator. Hopefully the belt can hold it securely enough, plenty of ppl use em for filters etc. It would definitely work with a strap wrench with a solid handle though. woot, im really leery of overdoing it with an air wrench since I worked in a car shop and saw so many cars come in that had a previous mechanic overtighten lug nuts with an air wrench and just ruin snit.

Or under the large spring. And what weight? Some say 15-20 some even say 30

So would the spacer and washer sit on top of the main spring right under the top cap?

Its a Zuma clone and its a pretty stout scooter, big and solid for a 150 , longer than the real Zuma actually and despite the forks it steers and can hold a line better. I weigh 150 and I'm 5-6 so I'm def not over the weight limit. The forks are just junk. The rear air/spring shocks work great but my scootw front compresses just sitting on it and it dives too. Its just bad design or manufacture. If the forks were stiffer the ride would be just perfect! Only thing I have to complain about for my China scoot

Oh yeah. I was thinking of the genuine stella. One of tbe only retro style scoots that I like AND its a 4 speed manual pretty sweet

It sure would be sweet, but probably pretty expensive. I think one modern brand sells 4 speed scoots I forget which tho....cvts are pretty convenient but they do steal a lot of power and make changing the gearing a little bit harder than simply swapping a sprocket out

Meh, but when you factor in that scooters use less materials and energy to produce im willing to bet that manufacturing and running an suv is worse than a scooter especially when people feel the need tl buh the latest model every year. If greenhouse gasses were really the issue wed have electric power rationing among all kinds of other restrictions. I think most stuff the epa does is heavily influenced by lobbyists and dubious motives rather than a genuine concern for the environment. It seems like tthey crack down on some things, but turn a blind eye to things like the bp spill and corexit spraying

Mine are new! Ive never had a scooter before so I only have mtb forks to compare...they feel like my marzocchis did when all the air leaked out of the air damping...just spongy and soft. I guess I may end up trying the pipe and heavy oil
