Installed lamp/charge coils. Getting nothing. No lights whatsoever, no charging whatsover. Doesn't matter what RPMs.
Leads show 2-3v at cranking for lamp/charge coils
Any ideas?

Scoot started right up! she lives!
Took it around the block for a few minutes, ran perfect!
Going to splice the connector for the charge/lamp coils and test that later on today (probably at night so I can see at what RPMs the headlights fully light up)
Should work though!

you should be seeing some color at least. Don't think the ethanol has any effect on it, never changed my readings.
Sure the engine is covered in oil but combustion with too much air will run a lot hotter than you think it would, its the gas that cools down the engine.
Post a pic of your plug? Does it looks glazed from heat?

I think when the air fuel mixture gets sucked into the engine its pressurized right?
this would alter the air density then

if your not seeing any color on the plug you could very well be running it too hot and it could seize.
I would cover up some of the air box / intake so you get it just a little bit richer to be on the safe side.

my scooter uses a lock nut like this: has a washer built inside the nut on the end so the washer threads onto the bolt as well.

Going to just order the 4 pole stator and see what that does for me. Will let you know how it works out.

Yes perhaps.
I haven't been able to remove the exciter coil, the wire is just too thin and breaks, even tried a box cutter and its impossible to cut through, a real PITA.
also one of the coils broke off from the wires so that would have to be reattached somehow.
On top of that I'm not located anywhere near any electric motor shops or anything of the like so it would mean driving across town to get someone to look at it.

Yeah I've already removed the pickup coil and ground wire from the stator wiring harness.
you can see they install in the two bolt holes at about 5 o clock down in the bottom right.
the pickup coil itself should work, measured 156 ohm resistance.
It's the exciter coil that was at first giving me huge amounts of resistance, and now it's not even reading continuous.
So I'm just looking for a new stator, I can still use the existing pickup coil.

2- If you are in a severe enough accident, they may investigate your scooter's mechanical condition. A quick measurement of the piston, and you could be denied your claim, and possibly prosecuted for fraud. Your talking about insurance on the scooter? or a health insurance claim?

Don't know where he lives but here in florida you have to register and title 50cc so if you got pulled over they would see 150cc on the registration and no endorsement on your license...

You can buy a bigger carb to go with the BBK, it is less restricting than stock. go with 17-19mm carb. Thanks can you help with one last thing how do I set the timing please sorry I'd love to help you but I assume thats something to do with valve timing and the BBK? I'm no good at 4 stroke engines, only familiar with 2 stroke engines lol
