On mine I top out around 54-55 mph (GPS) at around 8700-8800 RPM (as indicated), all stock as far as I know.

So, the last bracket broke off of the muffler on my scoot (it had been laid down a couple times before I got it) so it's time for a new manifold and muffler. Suggestions? Looking for a decent set-up for under $100.

CDI?

So, when I'm operating at top speed / WOT, I sometimes get these momentary "misses". Lasts all of about 1/2 a second. Could the CDI have anything to do with this, or am I looking at something else?

I'm still learning about how these small engines run. What's a CDI? What does it do? And what are the benefits of getting a "performance CDI"?

Thanks for the comments! Any recommendations on brands for the variator and weights? Belt? Anything else I should change while I have the cover off?

Ahh... Is it usually a good idea to get a performance variator at the same time?

CVT Noise

Recently it seems I've developed a bit of drivetrain noise. It's almost a rattle (?) sound under acceleration. Upon leveling out at a speed, the rattle pretty much goes away, so it's mostly under load. I put the scoot up on it's center stand and rolled on the gas some, while moving my hand around the bike, it felt like most of the vibration was coming from the rear of the CVT case. The bike has 4,200 miles on it. I've not had the CVT case off, but I have changed the gear oil. Any input on what I might possibly be looking at?

My "Ducati" (Hah! Inside joke at work. ;p ) 2004 Z-Bike 125. Picked it up for $350 with a new carb and battery. Just had to put a new tire on the rear. You wanna see my other ride? 1997 Yard Machine with a 12.5HP Tecumseh. Freebie.

FYI the first 1/2-3/4 gallon you pump is whatever the last guy used. It is left in the line, so chances are, most of the time you are actually using 87 and don't even know it. We have separate hoses for each grade.
