Thanks! I'll be sure to check out the other stuff. The scoot had been dropped twice previous to me owning it (once on either side) and is the main reason the stock exhaust broke off.

Ok everybody! I think I've finally gotten this taken care of. So, I ended up hacking my old header pipe and the new header pipe and had them welded together. That way I had the shape of the old one to fit around the frame and such and the end of the new one so the muffler would bolt up. Used some cheap aluminum angle stock and rigged up some triangulation to secure the pipe and muffler. I think it looks pretty good, seems to hold pretty tight. Made a short trial run and it sounds much better than with the straight pipe. LOL!

It's a Z-Bike 125cc. I'll get a pic of the old pipe when I get home.

Well, another dilemma has reared its ugly head. The header in the exhaust kit I ordered is nowhere near the shape I need it to be at the tail end. I've made some tweaks to it with heating, but the pipe nearly sticks straight out the back instead of up at an angle. Anyone know where I can get a header that'll match closer than the one I have currently?

I can't remember, are the mounting ears on the center section of the case or the right case side? The top ear is on the right section, the bottom ear is on the center section.

I made one for 3 bux like this..took 20 mins or so. Girlfriend has used it 3 years now with no problems. I used 1/2x3/4' aluminum angle stock I bought for 3 bux at Menards....Home Depot and all other big chain hardware stores carry it as well. Here is a pic. Easy to do and $45.00 cheaper than buying one.. Glenn Ok won't let me load a pic..so here is a link..it is the 4th post down. Click the pic and you will see how to save $45.00 and mount your muffler up solid.. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/4617/carb-rejetting-necessary-exhaustDang, from what I can tell it looks like a good set-up, but since I'm not a member, I can't see any more than the thumbnail.

So, I have a dilemma. I'm installing a new exhaust on my scoot (the old one finally fell/rattled apart, LOL). However the PO laid the bike down a couple of times, one of those times being on the exhaust, which broke off the lower mounting casting on the block. My question is, what would y'all suggest I do to go about mounting this so that it doesn't vibrate and break apart? FWIW, this is the exhaust I picked up. I know I'll have to fab up some brackets. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005M30IUC/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Much thanks, Jerry! Any idea if this exact CDI will work on my 125?

The plug on the cable for the spark plug is shot, won't stay clipped on any more. I'm just going by the old saying "if it's broke, upgrade!".

In the process of upgrading my ignition system. I need to find out what spark plug to use for my application. The PO had a Champion 7TC in there (not even sure if that's what's supposed to be in there). I was planning on upgrading to an iridium anyways.
Also, as far as the ignition goes, I'm looking at my options on Scrappy Dog's site. Should I get the Performance CDI and Performance Ignition Coil or just spend the couple of extra dollars and get the GY6 Racing CDI and Red Hot High Energy GY6 Ignition Coil? What's the difference?
