Ya, Ankle Bite it! All that cover does is keep fingers and pets out and then all the heat in necessitating the Drive face fan. Heat is the Enemy of the Belt...

Lets again make sure you just don't have a fouled plug and flooded engine now.. Is that plug soaking wet? or?

Cool the engine over to the TDC on the flywheel, now just stick a per or pencil into the spark plug hole and you should run into the piston. No while holing the pen with your right hand gently roll the flywheel back and fort a feew degrees and you should feel the piston coe up to TDC the turn direction and go down Do this several ties to confirm you have the piston at TDC at that point the TDC mark on the flywheel should line up with its mark. If it doesn't remove the fan cover then the fan. if you don't have sometime of impact you will have to figure out a way to hold the flywheel and remove its Nut. Once the nut is removed you maybe able to see the keyway t see if the Key is sheered some. if you can't see it you will have to pop the flywheel. there is e inexpensive tool to do this with sold by most suppliers Good Luck

No don't buy anything yet. I want you to try a couple thing just to make 100% we eliminate them as a issue. Backfire/pop bak thru the intake, Do you have a fouled Plug? try another one. Lets then back up to a previous suggestion of confirming you don Not have a half sheered flywheel key, I've have some strange crap happen and a sheered key made a idiot out of me once or twice. Pop that timing plug and you valve cover and confirm your at TDC and that coincides with the TDC on the flywheel. there are some you tube vids I'm sure to help you with this. Im up north in Randleman, this is the biggest motorsports weekend in the world and I'm wide open with running a bunch of school race cars around the speedway for there big 600 weekend then back to the shop up here, theres a 911 every ten minutes so I'm slammed man. Ill pop in here and there to help ya when I can...

I've been in pain so long I think that I like it now. I just rebuilt my motor with a 50mm piston 23mm intake valve and 20mm exhaust valve. I put 6g rollers in my cvt and still can't get over 45mph and a 20mm high perf cvk carb # jet. Whats up with this I should be able to do 55mph you think? Hey I got tied up. Since Raising your RPM limit is Not and option your going to have to make a significant Gearing change to get to those desired speeds.

Here one of the first thing I did to my scoot was to simplify the combobulatin of filth of a needles vacuum fuel pump and other vacuum robbing worthless gubermant feel good mandated idiocy.. Also if it is easier to leave the carb attached to the intake flange just pop the two nuts on the manifold and put the carb off to the side. My OE intake with all the crap capped off. Then I purchased just a one port intake manifold to hose my cheapie dry nitrous shot, just to keep things as clean and simple as possible under the hood..

hey Pistonguy, when I take the carb off, should I just dumb a little bit of gas straight down into the intake hole of the engine ? how much ? teaspoon full ? tablespoon full ? and should I put the manifold and carb back on before trying to start the scooter? or just pour a little in and give a crank ? Yes just pop the manifold and dump a half tee spoon or so directly into the port, then still leave the carb off and hit the starter. she should pop right off, then once she has depleted the fuel you introduced she will die.. On the hand choke, yes if you completely cover the carb with you hand she should vacuum so hard you will have splash back fuel on you hand and there should be so much it spills back out of the carb, thats the way it should be if you have delivery.. I try to keep it super simple by again fire Ether and if she fires then dies you have now confirmed you have spark and once the engine uses up the Ether you introduced and dies you know you have no have a delivery problem to the Intake Port, and I never had to pull the plug or multi test a swap out a cdi.

Ok I was just winging the thing so I stand corrected. So then again go ahead and correct me again at the regular service interval of 1,000 miles she is gulping upward of 20% of the cranks oil. This is indicative of using poor quality low cost lubricants and the lack of regular scheduled maintenance. Also to the oil consumption is I can see you did not properly prepare the cylinder for installation..
I think the GY is a pretty tuff cookie design, very similar to basic xr's or lay down ct design, solid bullet proof, and the milage your putting on one with such little investment. I think thats still awesome
